What should Hersheypark do next?

What do you think Hersheypark do for the 06 season. And where do you think they will place next year's attraction?

Is 2006 or 2007 the parks 100th anniversary?

If it's 2006 then i would expect something major but not sure of ehat kind of room they have.

I think they need a hyper. They could run it along the front edge and down into that unused space where the Laser show was.

From what I've heard there are orange marks with spike in them that seem to indicate footers of some kind. The route goes from Founder's Circle back to Roller Soaker. The marks are said to be spaced perfectly for a monorail's supports. This could very well be a monorail connecting the entrance to Midway America. But of course it could also just be electrical wiring for something.

2007 is the 100th anniversary. I'm pretty sure HERCO (The company that owns Hersheypark) has been buying off the houses across from Roller Soaker. They have also stopped leasing land to a Turkey Hill Minit Mart adjacent to the park and across the road from some of those houses. There is also the old airport across the street from Hersheypark and that Turkey Hill. If you look at an aerial view it makes perfect sense. These three areas form an L-shape, perfect for a hyper or maybe even a giga. I have attached an image showing this area that could be used for a huge 2007 coaster.

I didn't even know Hershey owned all that land, Thats awsome, they have tons of room for expansion. Something big for 2007 could very well be on it's way.

Thats a nice layout in that pic.

Thats not even supposed to be a layout.

Thats the land that Hershey will probably have available for the next coaster. It looks like it could make for an awesome hyper twister. I can't wait for '07.

I know it's not a coaster layout, I ment land-wise. Thats a nice layout of land that Hershey has to expand on. Sorry i didn't make myself clear.

I thought Hersheypark had a 200 foot height restriction? I could see Hershey building a massive wooden coaster; I'm not so sure about a huge steel coaster, but it would sure help the lineup.

They could build a really nice steel hyper at 200ft if they do indeed have a limit. That or they could get the limit rasied i'm sure.

So we do or not have a confirmation that they own the houses across the street from the border of the park with Tidal Wave, Lightnin' Racer, StormRunner? I wouldn't mess with that area but the blank lot across from Wildcat. A tunnel or bridge to access that area could work.

They need to think deep about whatever they put in time for the 100th anniversary. After losing GIANT Wheel I realized how much of a classic ride it was. This new attraction should be worthy of great quality and becoming a classic long after a debut in the 100th anniversary year. Hersheypark is that nice of a park.

I know there has been talk of them expanding the monorail. If they do this, do u think they will actually put in different stations so that u can use it to get around the park? Or will it be just a bigger version of the current one and just give you a tour of the park?

I have heard that the monorail will be a brand new one that has one station in Founder's Circle and one in Midway America. I think it will be a shuttle rather a complete circuit. There isn't much room for it to go around in a circuit. Also a shuttle will be cheaper because less track is used. As long as a large train is used and it goes pretty fast I don't think capacity will be bad.

Hershey has kissing tower which is almost 300 ft. so I don't think Hershey has a height limit of 200 ft.

A dark ride would be sweet for Hershey. They are king of family parks in the Deleware/Leigh Valley and a dark ride is the king of family rides. The Chocolate World Tour is always a must-ride attraction for my friends and me. I don't know about 2006 or 2007, but I would see that in their future.

Yea, I agree. A dark ride would be perfect for Hershey. But where would they put it?

BTW, Im pretty sure that Hershey does not have a 200 ft. limit.

ok well what about this whole design a coaster with rollercoaster tycoon contest? i mean do you think that they will use the winning design for a real coaster i mean would that not be awesome i mean that could be there coaster for the 100th anniversary i mean the contest does end jan 31st of 2006 that would give them plenty of time to get permits and build it.
