Custom B&M Floorless for Six Flags New Orleans!

Well. While reading the lastest ''Rumors and Reports section'' on www.coaster-net.com, the last rumor at the butten says that Six Flags New Orleans may be getting a custom B&M Floorless next year, that will be build must in the lake.
I think that it is very posible, now that it is rumored that SFI has bought 3 B&M coasters for next year, and we already know that SFOG will be geting a Hyper, and SFMM will be getting at Flyer, so the last coaster may be the floorless for SFNO. Lets hope it't ture. I really hope it's ture, 'caurse it sound like it will be awesome!
It's a coaster to hold an eye for.

I'll quote from the site:

'Six Flags New Orleans' next coaster project will be a Bolliger and Mabillard floorless coaster. It will be built over water at least partly, with a custom layout. The theme and name are unknown at this time.'

That sounds like something the park could use. A custom layout to interact with the lake? Sounds like one rumor we should keep an eye on, but knowing Six Flags has spent a lot of money in 2003 to upgrade the park to Six Flags standards with many new rides, maybe a new extreme coaster could come in a few more years, just not so soon.

Well, thats it for this weeks rumors update. Enjoy the site and dont forget to nominate people for the GOLDEN LOOP AWARDS. Drop by the Golden Loop Forum today and keep sending in the rumors at rumorsreports@coaster-net.com!

It seems very probable, but, as others have stated, I think it will be a BTDK clone, more cost efficent.

It's a rumor, nothing more.

I don't see this happening.

It has been repeatedly disproved, but idiots still send it in to be published, but has finally been totally disproved, and so is no longer being posted.
Exactly, though I'm that dude that posts the crappy rumors because I have to and I like venting my anger at the 11 year olds that send in the stuff, I dont even post ALL of the stuff. Heck, some emails I get were like;

Anyways, my opinion on the rumor is me saying Its a possibility. Certainly Six Flags inherited the traits Jazzland had with the location and wouldn't be surprising if they do some sort of expansion in 2006 or later to attract guests back. But I wouldn't be surprised if in 2008, the park gets a Medusa clone or some other Six Flags clone...

Yes Six Flags New Orleans has seemed to inherit most of the traits of the suffering Jazzland. Attendance isn't nearly as bad, but they are still struggling to pull in the crowds this year. Actually last year and in 2003 they did fairly well for such a small park. Attendance was definitely going to be drastically affected this year by the removal of two rides without a replacement and a very high percent of operating hours removed from the schedule. Less hours and rides = less reason to go to the park again.

I have heard this rumor is actually somewhat credible that such a project is being considered, but I wouldn't hold my breath on it. There was also a rumor last year that turned into more like a fact and a 2005 construction discussion when signs popped up saying 'new attraction for 2005' in DC Comics. But obviously those plans changed because nothing happened in DC Comics and the sign was taken down (sources said that the Batman stage would be torn down for the expansion, the show was removed at short notice and did not come back for 2005, but the stage is still standing). It is obvious that something for DC Comics is planned (which would make it near the lake like this rumor), but I wouldn't hold my breath on the plans becoming a reality. What they need is a waterpark, Six Flags New Orleans has been totally empty this week despite really good weather. I visited Blue Bayou/Dixie Landin' on a Wednesday and it was bustling with people. It's obvious that the potential is there and that they just aren't tapping into it.

Six Flags New Orleans is a park filled with tons of problems. There's not enough to do to make it even a 1-day park, there's not enough natural shade, and their operations sucked badly last year, which turned a lot of people away (certain supervisors said they would not add another train even with a 1 hr 30 minute + line because people were more likely to buy a coke!). Six Flags has not done nearly enough, they have left the park 1/2 done and still filled with problems. They need at least another $35 million in improvements to get going in the right track in my opinion. They could use another coaster, a waterpark, and general improvements to fix the shade situation.

The park sucks. I said it before when SF first bought them and added new rides. I said that they wouldn't give it anymore new coasters or anything else really big for years to come. I was right. I thank God that isn't my homepark. I guess though it makes them some amount of profit seeing as they haven't added anything expensive there. And people that live there unfortunately don't have much choice if they want to visit an amusement park without traveling a long distance.
