Exclamation Hershey 06 Floorless!?

At eastcoaster.com while strolling through the forums I found a guy saying that hershey will get a B&M floorless for the 06 season, he described the colors, height, speed and inversions. I know this may not be true but if he wasn't certain he wouldn't of said look for an announcement in the next two to 3 weeks as it was posted yesterday. Im not sure whether to believe this or not but I have found markers popping up at hershey last time I was there.

The rumours for this floorless have been floating around for a while. I personally don't believe them but if it happens that would be great. I really don't think there will be a coaster until 2007.

I think that they might add a flyer for 2006.

The '07 season is their 100th anniversary. I'd expect something big for '07.

After Dorney and GAdv got a floorless, I think Hershey wants one too. Of course, it would be better if they got a coaster that one of the other 3 surrounding parks (SFA, SFGAdv, Dorney) doesn't have. Maybe they'll work out a deal with IR for Turbulence this year.

I think they are done dealing with IR. Though I do believe in there lawsuit against them they want to acquire the rights to the Frequent Faller design so another company can work with them on it. I'll have to find the document online.

Didn't they have a contest where you could design a coaster for them with RTC3 and they would built it? Prehaps someone designed a floorless coaster for Hersheypark?

^ The winner of that contest isn't getting picked until next January...I don't think HP is actually going to build the coaster that gets picked, but they might.

^ I doubt Hershey will build the winning coaster of the contest. The layout of the coaster would have to fit into the park. Also, the only coaster type that you can enter in the contest is a steel looping coaster. But you never know...

Why, in rumor threads, does someone always say they think that the park is getting a flyer. Flyers havn't had much success, there hasn't been a new, large scale one for a while now. Unless SFMM is REALLY building a flyer like everyone is saying...

No duh there haveing the contest with RCT3. So if there giveing 100,000 and whole bunch of other stuff to the winner it's going to be realy big.

though hershey should get a Skycoaster They seem to be verry popular right now if people are paying 30$ per ride

I don't think Hershey would buy a floorless. It seems that the floorless hype is dieing. Sure Hydra just opened up, but I don't personally see too many more floorless coasters coming soon.

I hope they do, A custom floorless would be awsome at Hershey. Hershey could buils a coaster in 2006 and again something bif in 2007 for their anniversary.

That would be awesome if they added a coaster the next two years, Perfect reason for me to hurry and get back there.

I might go to hershey/dorney next year, so it would be awesome if they got a floorless! I see them getting a flyer/standup though, hershey/dorney dosen't have something like that already.

Parks need flyers and standups! They have a really high potential. Flyers especially in dueling, like if a flyer in flly position goes just above a flyer in lying position, that would be totally holy crud awesome!

Same with a face to face loop. Unlike on Dueling Dragons where only the front row gets the crap scared out of them seeing this train coming right at them. On a flyer every row would get that effect.

I'm suprised no park has thought about a dueling flyer before. I was expecting some like this 3-4 years ago. Hopefully well see a first very soon.

I couldn't see dueling flyers at HP, I don't really know the reason for it though. HP and B&M did a good job with great bear trying to set it unique by adding the pre helix drop..I can just imagine what they would do with a floorless....

I think the reason for a park not having dueling flyers is that it could easily be a $30 million+ project. That's two new, full-sized B&M's dueling each other; it's not going to be cheap. There aren't too many parks that would/could spend that kind of money. Cedar Point is the only park that I can think of that could do it. Disney has the money as well, but they prefer to buy unreliable coasters from Intamin and Vekoma (WHY?????).

Alot of parks could afford a dueling flyer at 30 million.

Any Six Flags park or Paramount park could get one. Only problem is if SF builds it, it will be crap after 2 years.

How much did DD coast for IOA? They might also be another park that could do it.

Oh hershey has the money..trust me. Hershey already has a dueling coaster which was named best racing coaster. I hope they dont try and beat there own record. Whatever hersheys next big thing is I hope it is B&M or Intamin. BTW-some construction marker pictures are at hersheyparkonline.com but they look mostly for gas and/or electric.

Does anyone remember hearing anything about the HP manager saying we will get something in 06 due to the turbulence deal? I thought I herd that somewhere.

I do remember hearing that somewhere... Can't remember, though. I don't think any info on Turbulence is left on Hershey's website. I think they took all of it off the website after the whole lawsuit and all.

I think Screamscape has stuff about the lawsuit.

Hershey needs to do something big in 06 (i.e. a coaster), not only for business, but so whatever they put in 07 would look that much more gigantic. A big coaster is just a big coaster. Can't get much taller than Storm Runner. (Well they could, but there's the whole Kissing Tower thing.)

Ew, any Six Flags run B&M Flyer, 2 years old or not, has been, is, and will always be better than a Paramount run Vekoma Flying Dutchman. BORG ASSIMILATOR, for example.

^

If Hershey builds one of these, I hope it's at least one of the larger small loopers in Pennsylvania. The parks in Pennsy have seemed to run with a small looper trend.

I respectfully disagree.

To stay on topic...I see a B&M for hershey, but not a floorless.

If it's a B&M, I am PRAYING for it not to be a flying coaster. I hate those things. If it's a B&M, hopefully it'll be a hyper ala Nitro (don't know where they'd put it...) or a floorless... ala Medusa or Dominator or Kraken.

However, I am still rooting for that monster terrain woodie to replace sooperdooperlooper.
