I am 100% that is the top of a swing. But the Point will get a coaster this year. Call me crazy but i think that the swing will go next Mean Streak. There is nothing back there and also having a new ride back there would generate many more people in that little extension area. As for the coaster, Same thing weve been saying for 2 years. B&M Flyer: Frontiertown. Thats the best i can do. BTW EastCoastn07 The last time we got two coasters in two years was 02-03 Wt And TTD.

I don't see A coaster for CP 06 season, 07 we will get one..all these flats just make the greatest amusement park even better.

I'd pray a ton that the answer is no because if CP got an S&S coaster I'd feel real bad for them.

I think the point that people don't see them 'giving' the record for most coasters to SFMM is quite interesting. I can see height/speed etc. to an extent, but the 'most' record is interesting, particularly because they call themselves 'America's Rollercoast' and 'roller coaster capital of the world'. Not that they couldn't continue with these slogans, but I think they would carry a little less meaning. Then again, maybe they don't really care about it if they have something 'huge' planned for 07 (they'll 'loose' the record for a year, but it's not really that long...)

Crazy,

There is plenty back there next to Mean Streak. CP uses that area beyond the fence to store spare parts for rides, timber to fix the good MS, and store garbage for Halloweekends - at least for some of the time. Think of it as that closet in your house where random stuff can be put temporarily. Roads for maintanence vehicle access are also back there, and an employee break area is sort of back there, too, to some extent.

I really wouldn't call workers at Cedar Point reliable resources, I think I ought to know , I certainly couldn't have told you about MaXair in June 2004. I guess the word around I heard the most was 2007, Kinzel retires and wants to go out with a bang, 500+ ft coaster, either that or White Water Landing and Antique Cars would go to make way for a B&M flyer.

What happend to the invertigo at CP? Maybe S&S just payed them back for the ride instead of getting CP a new ride.

The same swing at Valleyfair only costs around 6 million dollars, I highly doubt that's all CP is going to put into the park for next season, they'll at least probably put another flat in and possibly a small coaster such as a spinner or something of that nature.

Also, I HIGHLY DOUBT Kinzel is putting in a flyer in 2007 especially seeing how a flyer really doesn't outdo TTD in anything...The only way a flyer could possibly outdo TTD is if it was around 200 feet and was a dueler like Dueling Dragons at IOA. I really don't know what else it could be besides a 500 foot coaster, maybe the park will put two coasters in next year? I guess anything is possible right now.

Whew! $6 million for a Screamin Swing seems steep to me. I'm not doubting you at all, I'm just saying that it seems like a lot of money for such a ride.

I don't think it's that steep of a price, I mean it's not as expensive as maXair. But the Swing has a lot of components that your typical flat ride doesn't have, such as the airtanks and all the piping needed to get all that compressed air to the ride. Just think of all the extra work needed to put into it aside from the actual electrical of the ride, it's a lot more work in my opinion. I'm interested in how much Power Tower cost Cedar Point now, anyone know that information?

With declining attendance if they are building a 50+ million attraction in 07 they may go bankrupt. Look at MF it is 300', alot of people are scared to ride. Look at TTD it is 420, most people are scared to ride. Look at a 500 footer, probably only ethusiass will be on it,lol.

No one said the new ride will be over 500 feet, I really believe it would not be economically correct to build that high. I would love to have a smaller 250 foot flyer, beemer, GCI really. A ride doesn't have to be huge to be fun!

Can anyone tell me if this is normal. I was at the point this weekend and after riding CCMR I got off and looked down and saw what looked to be hundreds of water pipes under the exit walkway. These pipes looked new and I think would be part of a watercoaster... Were these here before and I just missed them or is this a convenient location for storing these untill the park closes in October...?

That's exactly why each year those rides were opened they had lines of up to 4hrs or more.

Yeah with the ride breaking down every 15 minutes like when TTD opened. Look at the lines throughout the year, more people is in the que for MF than TTD.

^^ thats because MF was running the whole year minus a few days... I think both rides are great but MF is a little less intimidating... I don't want to start any rumors but if you look at TTD from frontier it looks like it is leaning forward and it is only time before it collapses ala vertigo... I know it won't but it does look like it's leaning...

It is supposed to be leaning, that is how it has been from the get go. Yeah MF is alot less intimidating than a 120 mph launch and being over 400' in the air.

Wow, you don't only make idiotic statements on your juicing thread. If people are so afraid to ride MF and TTD, why do they always have long lines during the summer? Believe me, If CP can invest in a decent 500 foot coaster with some elements besides a brake run, I'm sure people are going to be flocking to it during the summer of 2007. Theres very few people that have fears of heights, and I can tell you that CP isn't only filled with coaster enthusiasts during the summer.

Wow, those sterioids really are messing up your head, I think you mean more people ARE in the queue for MF than TTD. And more people are in MF's line because it takes a little more time when MF only has 3 trains and TTD has like 4 or 5 running.

First off eastcoastn, sorry bout the steelers choking today.

But more people ride MF than does dragster, cause it is more scarier than MF is. MF is pretty much a kiddy coaster with a nice first drop. After the drop it is a total snoozer.

No it isn't, it's fun and exilerating, and you're full of it.

And they get the same amount of riders... Dragster just has much great capacity.

It's funny how you know what other people think about MF and TTD...I guess those steroids mess up your body but give you psychic powers in exchange. Second of all, it's one game, wow...How can you say they choke in week 3? What an idiot. If it was the AFC championship game that'd be another story.

Dude, get your facts straight before you talk, you really know absolutely nothing about what you are talking about do you? And you only listen to what you want to hear like in your juiced thread.

Reality check, both coasters are good coasters, last time I checked MF and TTD were both in the top 10 steel coasters list, and MF is a better coaster, but thats because it has more than just a launch and a top hat.

So its pretty much established its a screamin swing. Who is to say that they also dont have a coaster and they are using this to keep our hopes down?

With Dragster they inconspicuously put a Red peice and a White peice of track back behind Mean Streak which Im sure they did to try and throw you off that it was one coaster.

I still wouldnt put it past them to install both a flat and a coaster this year. If just a flat, whatever goes in 2007 better be freakin awesome. Im gettin bored with CP.

^MF is borrriinngg. I just cant find it fun anymore, even when I try. Dragster, albeit way shorter delivers much more of a thrill. Too bad they cant even get that running. Morons.

I think theres a better chance of it being two flats than the Swing and a coaster, but I guess anything is possible right now. I can't wait for the press release.

Optical Illusion. Think about it. If just the tower leaned, the track at the base would buckle. This is about as stupid as the magnum sinking thing. You guys dont even input reality when you think about this stuff. If just the tower leaned, somewhere the track would be REALLy messed up. Even if the tower leaned 1-3 degrees that would be a nasty bump in the track wherever the track bent from.

Its not leaning at all. Its 90 degrees straight up as its just an illusion created from the height and the towers back brace being built up at an angle.

It's final. Sandusky locals will welcome a 40-seater S&S Screamin' Swing for the 2006 season! Fun stuff! If you can't put two and two together in the evidence below, then God help you, you are ignorant.

New ride part under a tarp that was recently delivered to Cedar Point: http://www.thepointol.com/images/mSwingCon0001.JPG

Notice how that ride piece uncannily resembles the connecting bridge piece of the 40-seater S&S Screamin' Swing concept art for Valleyfair!'s Xtreme Swing: http://www.valleyfair.com/images/mis...tremeSwing.jpg
