Question about Disney World Ride

Did anyone hear a date for "expedition everest" to open. All I found is 2006. That don't really help me plan time off to go. Any body hear anything good.

The official date is: "Late 2005-Spring 2006" I know they have been testing it and scaffolding has been coming off, but that's the official info.

I know someone who says that Disney has pushed back the opening to mide next year (even if its ready at the end of this year) so they can get all the tourists possible for the 50th and then tell them too come back, cause Everest open now.

I was workin at Ak the other day and apparently the word is a possible earliest opening at christmas as a surprise...but I myself would doubt it as they haven't done the casting call yet for the ride. The reasoning was better than expected weather.

Interestingly enough, I was just at a conference in Orlando, one of the speakers was Lisa something or other from some department or other from Disney something or other.

Anyway, there was a refreshment break after her presentation, so I approached her and I asked her the same question, she said middle of 2006, which had been pushed back from the beginning of 2006. She started to describe the ride, but I try not to listen to women for too long. I commented that a year-end park has the luxury of opening rides whenever the hell they feel like it since there's no opening day for the park. She agreed.

I also asked why the hell they paid $100M for a Vekoma, she didn't seem to understand the question.

EDIT - In case anyone cared, her name was "Lisa Spahn, Facilitator and Content Specialist, Walt Disney World® "
