Tallest Pendulum Swing In The World

Disneyland could be extending its extensive land to make way for the world's biggest, tallest, fastest gyro swing. Said to be called the 'Nerang', construction on the ride should begin in less than a year. The poles holding the ride up will be approx. 85m high, and the pendulum will complete a swing to 80 degrees. Disney workers are looking at theming of the ride, set to be constructed by Intamin AG.

If you read correctly, I said 'could be'. I found the statement on a theme park website. I'll check my history and tell you the site so you can have a look at it yourself.

My question still stands. I could post that Epcot is going to be building a 580,000 feet tall Power Tower complex on the internet, and it doesn't mean it's true.

Also, to go on what info you have provided:

1. Where is this land that they're putting it on? The only place the land would be would be in the Timon lot as part of DCA. And all that is going on at DCA right now is the fixing of the theme, and a possible addition of a "Cars" or "Incredibles" themed ride in that spot. Both of those are MUCH more likely than this. I mean, if the name "Nerang" is true, then where would it go?

2. Why would Disney build a 85m (278 feet, 11 inches) tall ride, when The Matterhorn is only 147 feet tall (the tallest point on Disneyland property)? Wouldn't it seem completely out-of-scale?

3. Since when has Intamin made "gyro-swings?"

Sorry to break it, but unless I see some hard evidence, I'm putting this under, "Wacky, wacky internet rumor." Speaking of which, shouldn't this be in rumors?

Intamin does infact make Gyro-Swings but I highly doubt a 278 foot tall one is going into any Disney park period. That is way to extreme for any Disney park, heck even the Screamin Swing going in at CP is no where near that big. This is one of those Wild Rumors remember the site back in the day.

Yeah...Disneyland's thrillrides are a lot more than just your average Cedar Point=style giant-sized midway thriller. They are more about immersive atmospheres, unique storylines, and offer guests of all ages and thrill preference an opportunity to experience it. A giant thrill swing nearly 300-feet high will not be something Disney is looking for in any their parks.

And like coasterjunkie stated, where would it go? First of all, we all know Disney parks ALWAYS correspond themed rides to their themed areas. With a name like 'Nerang, where would that giant swing go? I could possibly see it going into Tomorrowland, but the choice of ride installation just does not sound Disney to me. It would aso completely detract away from the well balanced look and feel to the park. Disney theme park fengshui if you wanna call it that.

well i did some looking up to see what the crap a nerang was and this is what i found note its from wikipedia so i dont always trust that either...The Nerang River is a river in south-eastern Queensland. It starts in the Lamington Plateau on the New South Wales border and heads north, then east where it flows into Moreton Bay at Southport on the Gold Coast. On the Nerang river is the Hinze dam, creating Advancetown Lake, the Gold Coast's main water supply....interesting that its a river but i still think its 1 million % BS

Just by that explanation you can see that the "rumour" is totally false.
Why would anyone, especially Disney, build a pendulum ride themed to a river? That's what log flums, rapids, and shoot-the-chute rides are for.
