This is the board for all the Cedar Point rumors. Have fun!

---When I was at Cedar Point, a ride operator from magnum told me CP is supposed to be getting a TA2K

--- There is some light blue water tubing @ Soak City, possibly a Master Blaster?

The rumor that CP is getting a Master Blaster was started last year, so this may actually be true. They really aren't all that special anymore though. Most good waterparks have one.

As for the TA2K, that may be true as well. The consensus rumors seems to be a TA2K and a CCI woodie.

i hope the the CCI or the TA2K come tru because CP is in need of a launched and a good newer larger woodie (bigger than BS, and with more lat gs and higher top speed than 30 something (if you have a good ride op he/she will say in a very enthusiastic way "were gonna send you soaring up over 40 (or 50 i forgot)FEET, and then send you screaming around at a top speed of MORE THAN 30 MPH, oh yeah")

A good thing about a master blaster is CP will be the only amusement park to have a master blaster and rollercoasters.
A TA2K is "Thrust Air 2000" - Like HYPERSONIC XLC. It uses air compression to push a car/train straight up a hill and straight down. (90 degrees) GO HERE!

Cedar Point next year will be installing the world's first Thrustaqua coaster. People sit in this big rubber raft that holds 30 people, and when the countdown ends, a superhydraulic cylander will release 12,000 gallons of water at a rate of approximately 360 KPC (kilos per centimeter) towards the boat propelling it forward from 0 to 100 at .94868329805051379959966806332982^³ seconds. The boat then cruises through a 180 ft vertical loop, through a figure 5, then figure 8, then figure 7 track set up, all cruising at a near 90 degree bank along a wooshing wall of water, before finally returning to the station. The back of the boats will contain a large scoop to prevent the wall of water from killing the passengers. The coaster is being manufactured by Mistress Wanda's Whips and Watersports, known for its family entertainment (and a few other things we won't get into here.) As an added bonus Cedar Point is hiring some live entertainment to entertain at the coaster for the entire summer (except May, September, and October.) For the months of June they'll have the Captain and Tenille. For the months of July: Vanilla Ice and Gerardo will be taking a break from the Car Wash to provide entertainment, and for August: who else but Hootie and the Blowfish.

HOWS THIS?

Next year cedar point will get the tallest fastest launched tera mega master blaster. It will send riders in a rubber raft with a GLASS COVER Shooting up a 500 feet to the top of a gigantic hill, and then send them screaming down a 600 foot drop into the water. traveling at over 175 mph they will go into an under water helix and loop, followed by a n immelmen and another helix.
at this point the riders dismount in an underwater station where the second part of the ride begins. here they board special mini subs and are shot straight up out of the water at speeds of 100 mph. here they float to the marina and dismount.

I have heard from someone that CP will install a 125 foot tall CCI coaster that lasts 3 minutes. That's all the details I heard.

Cedar Point likes to do things big, as we all know. How would they break any world records by building a CCI? Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see one at the Point, but just about the only way I can see them putting in new wood is if it is a longer, faster dueling racing coaster than Lightning Racer.

With the TA2K it would be fairly easy to break some world records. Perhaps a spike thats taller than 320 feet, making it the tallest, fastest, steepest full circuit coaster on the planet. Would the peeps be able to survive the ride though... They might have to stagger the launch, so you don't go through something ridiculous like 0 - 130 MPH in 1.8 seconds.

Right, everyone is noticing the same thing.

Each CP ride has broken a record when it opened, even if they do get beat a few months later by another park.

If CP puts in a TA2K ride, it must be higher, faster, and longer than the one being built in Asia. They need to make that ride longer. If they can shoot the car over 100mph, then do something with all the speed. More hills, turns, tunnels, mist, but most of all, make it a longer ride. Plus they need dual loading stations because it's a low capacity ride.

This is why CP is so friggen awesome. You know they're going to put something big in there, not a clone that we've already ridden.

I would rather see them build a non-record breaking CCI than a TA2K... and besides, they could do something different with a CCI coaster to make it stand out... make it the longest ride, or the most tunnels on one ride... the most drop footage of any ride... the most wheels on a ride... etc. It just seems that EVERY CCI coaster is a good ride, and I'd love to have one at CP... they need a good woodie.

If they do build a Giga woodie, as some have mentioned, I think they should name it Viagra... whoa... that was funny. I'm retarded...

I think that a TA2K is a very safe bet. If not next year, then 2004. It's a common fact that S&S loves working with CP. They mentioned that in the press release for Vertigo. So naturally if S&S loves working with CP, then a TA2K would make alot of sense.

If they do build one it most likely won't be like the prototypes. Sure they're impresive, but there's not much too them. Just one blast, one hill and then it's over. Sure it's one amazing blast, and one amazing hill, but I think it could be so much more.

Could you imagine the hill peaking over top of either MF or Magnum. Sure I realize that there's no room to do that. But just imagine what it would look like to be going up the lift on MF, watching a TA2K rocket over top of you.

how about continue with cedar points trend of record breakers and new types by putting in either a standup inverted (Extreme)
or standup suspended. I Think a standup suspended would be awesome swinging through the turns

Cedar Point will reclaim it's title from Magic Mountain next year, once again becoming the coaster capital of the world. Cedar Point has 14 rollercoasters at the moment, but has been beaten by the Six Flags park in 2001 which has 15 rollercoasters (although two are yet to open). An announcement is due in October. It is expected that the park will add two rollercoasters and a number of flat rides, as well as re-locate some existing rides. Those expecting a Thrust Air 2000, may be disappointed, as Cedar Fair are in talks with Intamin to bring one of their revolutionary new wooden coaster designs to the States. The other rollercoaster is likely to be a B&M Flying or Floorless Coaster, but nothing is confirmed yet.

With all the room on the island of the Millenium Force why couldn't we see a TA2k that has an inversion over the top of MF's second hill where it is timed to loop over the MF at the same time the MF train is coming to the top! I know it wouldn't happen all the time but it would be kindof exciting. Doing this on the first hill would be impossible due to the MF being soo close to the road

I don't think Cedar Point will be getting a master blaster at that height. You'd need a really powerful water-blasting mechanism.
