Scream Machine

They should really do something about the Scream Machine like take it down. It is a classic ride but it is painfull. Last time I rode it I slammed my temple against the vest in the first flip and almost blacked out. Then after the small turn in the middle of the double loops it jurked my neck foward and almost blacked out again. As the ride went on I kept hitting my head back and forth against the vest. I got off complaining loudly to my friend and the ride op didn't even ask me if I was alright. I heard of people getting hurt before and Six Flags should really do something.

Yeah, they really should do something, but don't take it down That was my first coaster, but they should really do something about the harnesses. Almost every time I've been on it (except for the first time) it's been painful.

The ride isn't TOO bad. I mean, it's not the smoothest coaster in the world, not even close, but it isn't "ouch I'm never riding that again" painful. If you keep your head an inch or two from the headrest, it actually prevents headbanging. I really don't see how anyone can black out on it. It doesn't deserve to be torn out.

Now Viper, on the other hand...

They should get rid of Viper. and all other TOGO's except for Ultra Twister, because it isnt too bad.

Well they just put new harnesses on the blue and red train of scream machine,so I dont think that they will do anything else to it. It really isnt that bad if you learn how to position yor head in the harness. Viper is on of the most intence rides I have ever been on after the Chiller ofcourse and I think that it should stay. I also think that it will stay because why else would they actually have the rides lights on at night on the ride and in the station.

The Great American Scream Machine gave me a headache just like its other counterparts (Viper and Shockwave). The ride looks awesome and the layout is great, but the ride is just rough. I expect that from a pretty old Arrow mega looper.

I have a suggestion, make B&M do the exact same layout with floorless trains, that thing would ROCK!

I've never had a severe problem with headbanging on the ride. I just keep my head slightly forward and neck stiff and the headbanging isn't too bad.

It's not even just your head, though. I've had my arm bang against the side so that my fingers went numb. And it's also not a lot of fun for woman in the chest area.

i've never had a problem with it but one of my friends hit her ear so hard aginst the restraint that it swelled up. but then again she's kinda dumb--on B:TR she tried to look down while we were doing a loop when the signs specifically say to keep your head back and her neck hurt the whole day. plus the ear thing she really did not have a good day..lol.

Sounds exactly like Shockwave at SFGAM (for obvious reasons). The first drop is awesome, but the rest of the ride is a boxing match. But, the answer isn't to take it down. The parks just need to look at 2 coasters: the Flight of Fears.

I don't think that the answer to every rough coaster is lapbars. I think that what Scream Machine needs is new trains. Like most arrows, this coaster just didn't age too well. I heard that they got new restraints on one of the cars though, I'm not sure if that's true. Maybe that would help. GASM should stay in the park, one of the best things about it is that it has a high ride capacity with three trains. It almost never has a line.

Gasm shouldnt be torned down!

First some of you ppl wanted to torn down viper now its gasm! What is this, SFGADV will be left with nothing if EVERYTHING is that painful although it aint! GASM isnt really painful, Ive been on it like 10 times and not once I got hurt. Maybe if you keep your head 5 inches away then u will get hurt!

GASM isnt going anywhere when you look at it from the parking lot it looks great. Its huge lines are not long.I did not experience a lot of head bangin i did but it did not hurt i think some people want ultra smooth rides and the only rides in the park that gives u that is Nitro and Medusa.Even Medusa have gotten a little rough at some spots. If a park get rid of each rough coaster it had it would be one boring park. The head banging on GASM is bearable my sisters got on and they always worry about there looks and complain when rides are rough. My sisters didn't complain they liked it but after we got off chiller thats when the complaining start ''my hair is messed up'' '' my head hurt'' ''why did we get on'' ''its over so fast''.GASM intensity makes the ride more fun.

GASM defines Great Adventure. It's been there for years and it's great to look at when you pull into the parking lot. As long as people still go on it (yes, I go on it when I visit the park), it should stay.

The same thing happened to me after the first of the two consecutive loops. I jerked my back and couldn't breathe or move for five seconds. My back hurt for the next two weeks.

Question GASM

Hey - I remeber a while ago GASM was covered in little red pieces of tape....when I asked some guy who worked there, he told me they were actually stress fractures in the supports. Well, has anyone else heard about this one? B/C currently, I no longer see any red markers. Personally though, I don't really like Scream Machine...I black out in the first few little loops, but I see no reason why it should be torn down. It's still an awesome ride. However, I do think that the stress fractures should be fixed and while they're at it, new trains wouldn't hurt either.

Something has to tell you that it is a rough coaster when they sell aspirin right by the exit...

Well apparently I'm not the only one who thinks this way Medusa. I said that the GASM was a good ride, I enjoyed it. I mean it's what you're gonna expect from an arrow looper. But it was good considering.

And no, Viper isn't a good ride. I'm sorry, but if you're going to argue with me, I'm gonna state my opinion right back. I think this might be the only coaster that I truely don't like, and I've been on quite a few in my short lifetime.

I love the Scream Machine. The next time I go I will stay on it all day, because I like it so much. Yesterday when I was there, I did it 6 times in a row until it started lightning. Oh well, another time.
