Valleyfair 2009

I know it's a bit early to start thinking about a new ride, but what do you think Valleyfair could/should get for 2009?
I think the should either take out the current waterpark and build a new one, or take the current one down, build a new one somewhere around the park (Field of Dreams), and then put in something new like a family expansion in the old waterpark grounds somewhere around 2010.

I've been looking at their timeline. They have gotten tons of goods in the last few years. I think they need to find some possible way to expand it somehow. They need a themed ride. Mabey a dark ride.

I think a dark ride would go in nice. What else?

With the rides they have been getting lately I could see them getting a themed/landscaped Huss Giant Frisbee. If they dont get that they should get a WaterPark expansion.

Yeah. They haven't updated that waterpark for over a decade now.

Guys, do you really think they would get something big the year after a major addition like Renegade? I sincerely doubt that they would do anything bigger than a new family ride.

It doesn't matter how expensive it was. Not only did VF! have to pay for Renegade, they also just built Xtreme Swing and did repairs on it. Like it or not, 2008 is not going to be a huge year.

But what about 2009?
I can see in 2008, maybe an interactive dark ride, a family disko or something along the lines of a family/kiddie ride.

Yeah. . . that could go where in the waterpark? (Not trying to be rude)
I think one of those would go great in a new waterpark.

I like the dark ride idea. Unfortunatly there arn't many dark rides (if any) in the entire Cedar Fair line up. There have definately been some awesome advances in the dark ride jaundra and cedar fair has yet to jump on this band wagon. I wish they would.

I could see a remodel of Whitewater Country for 2009. On the other hand, I could also see them removing Whitewater Country completely for 2009 and 2010, since Waterpark of America is just down the road. That would open up all kinds of space. I would love to see a Huss Giant Frisbee across from Renegade, where the Hurricane Falls ends now. And that space would be ideal for a small B&M.

^Dude, you know there's no way they would ever use a layout designed by anyone other than B&M themselves, don't you? That's completely false hope. The g's would be way out of whack.

It makes me wonder whether ThrillRider22 is posting complete crap to purposely piss us off. I think it's best not to reply to him as it's exactly what he wants you to do.

Definitely not a coaster next year. I think a waterpark/dark ride.

Oh, I was talking about later in the 2010.

I think they should tear down the waterpark, tear down Wild Thing and possibly renegade. Mabey just build a huge corkscrew.

Okay, seriously they should do something to the waterpark as many said. It needs to be better. I've been there a few times and all that's really fun is the lazy river.

A remodel of a waterpark would cost alot of money. I see park improvements the next year or 2. We wont be getting a B&M. It would be nice but with this new GCI we wont get a new coaster for at LEAST 4 years.

3-4 years. I agree. But I think a waterpark improvement/remodel is a must.

I think they will move the water park will go in the "field of dreams" in between the parking lot and the dorms. But more realistically, they tear down Excalibur and put a B&M invert in its place

NO. Gosh, that thing is two of a kind!
It's really fun depending on where you sit. It's a classic (not to High Roller's standards but still), and it would be terrible to tear it down.
I agree with the waterpark thing though.

When I rode it today, they really braked the first drop; it felt like we weren't going to make it over the second hill.......the ride was so deserted!
