Geauga Lake Coaster to replace aquatic stadium?

Well as we all know the stadium is indefinately closed down, and has been since the end of last year. From some of my friends that seem to know a lot about the Point, they're removing the Stadium to move yet another coaster from Geauga Lake. No word on what coaster it is yet...

IF IF IF this is true, then I'd believe the next coaster to be removed would be Raging Wolf Bobs...I haven't heard any word on the state of it....

Doubt it. I cant imagine Cedar Point tearing down property to put in an already used coaster.

^^And certainly not a coaster like that. While I am saddened that the Aquatic Stadium may be torn down...it does not surprise me that it would be for another coaster.

I highly doubt Cedar Point will receive a used coaster, it is just very unlike them. I'm not exactly sure how big the piece of land is, but it definitely doesn't look large enough for a coaster. I would say a flat would fit better in that spot.

Does he mean that their tearing down the Stadium and moving a nother coaster to a different park, or move a coaster to that spot.
Moving a coaster to a different park seems more Believable

If Cedar Point gets one of GL's coasters, that would be one of the most stupidly pointless decisions ever.

At least I have a pic of the former Seaworld stadium. I have my peace with it.

Haha, pointless. Get it, because it's Cedar Point!!! Get it!!!?!?!?!?!!

Anyway, Cedar Point may be a little shy to get another new coaster. Last two new coasters they got caused delays with their opening and/or operation. I mean, taking a good reliable used coaster from within the corporation is good, because they know all about it, all the tricks and whatever.

And there's only one GL coaster good enough for Cedar Point. And I'm sure it would dominate.

I sincerely doubt that Cedar Point will get a used coaster. It's just not like them to install one.

Also, they can do more than just put a coaster in place of the Aquatic Stadium. They can start renovating it (like they did with the former IMAX theatre, now Good Time Theatre), or they can tear it down and put several other rides there.

But, I sincerely doubt it's a coaster, since they had to tear down an arcade that was associated with that area, and Cedar Point doesn't like putting coasters directly next to each other like that. While there are rides close (TTD and Magnum), their entrances are not next to each other.

Everytime I ride a coaster, it valleys. I've never been on a stalled coaster or had one roll back (except Wicked Twister and what was Superman: Ultimate Escape, which does that by design).

MF and Mantis? Iron Dragon and Wildcat? Skyhawk and Snake River Falls? CP has lots of rides with entrances close to one another. What's wrong with that?
I think they should put in a wild mouse in place of the aquatic stadium. They need one. Or record-breaking dueling flyers from B&M. Unfortunately, I don't think that one could fit.

Everyone just has to pick on poor Geauga Lake, don't you? When will the rumors about Geauga Lake losing all their coasters end, is it going to take a public service announcement from Dick Kinzel himself? Seriously, just because Geauga Lake lost two of their coasters this years doesn't mean Cedar Fair has suddenly just given up on the park. There were various reasons why those two coasters were taken out in the first place. For one, they were maintainence nightmares and cost more to operate than the park could afford, and secondly as Dick Kinzel said before it was to make the footprint of the park smaller and to make the front of park more appealing and not so overwhelming.

Seriously, has there not been enough news stories featuring Cedar Fair execs saying they have not given up on the park, or the parks future is being planned year to year, or even that the park already has future attractions planned, to make any of the Geauga Lake bashers give up on the "GEAUGA LAKE IS GOING TO CLOSE" arguement and move on with your lives.

Lastly, Cedar Point would NEVER get a used coaster because as we all know Dick Kinzel wouldn't allow such a thing at his baby park. But one things for sure, eventually Cedar Point isn't going to have enough room to keep building new coasters and they'll most likely have to began tearing down coasters themselves. Maybe we'll hear rumors about Cedar Point closing down because they lost coasters like we did for Geauga Lake...

^THANK you for clearing that up. This thread didn't make sense to begin with but whatever.

As for Cedar Point, I have a feeling that space honestly isn't a problem for them. I'm not 100 percent sure, but there have been cases where certain structures needed space but there was nothing but water...so how was it solved? By adding lots and lots of whatever they use to make land in the middle of nowhere, now it would cost quite a bit of money, but if Cedar Point wanted to continue growing in numbers, it quite possibliy might need to expand in that way.

There's absolutely no way Cedar Point will be able to keep adding coasters without having to remove some at the same time. Yes, I don believe theres enough room at the park for one maybe two more coasters, but after that, they're going to have to bring the wrecking ball in. I for one think if any coasters will be removed, the first to go with be either Gemini or Disaster Transport...Both coasters sit in pretty spacious areas and both coasters are aging and pretty run down. I think a new coaster would be perfect in any of those areas.

But don't take my word for it, navigate around in local live and tell me where you could see a new coaster going.

I agree, it would be a shame to see Gemini go, but that is a lot of land. Disaster Trainsport looks like it sits on a couple of acres.

I guess the only thing they can really do is to either replace a coaster or tear out some of the parking and put some landscaping in. It would suck if they got a parking lot coaster.

I heard that the coaster would go over where Berenstein Bear Country once was. It's there now but they are taking it out for next year.

^ Amen to that.

But I think Cedar Point/Fair is too into the "We've got the most coasters in the world" to do that.

I still think there is a lot of room at the park to put in other coasters.

The stadium definetly is taking up prime real estate and could go for the next coaster.

If they removed Gemini, I think ACE would riot. And I'd join in!

Besides, they could build 3-4 more coasters without taking out any existing coasters or moving to the parking lot. They'd just have to get a bit creative with the designing.

I didn't even know that CP had an aquatic stadium? I suppose I just go there for the coasters... I don't even see it on their park map. Anyways, I too agree that this is a load of non-sense and that CP would never get a used coaster. Maybe a nice, shiny S&S 4D coaster now that they have worked most of the kinks out(I think).

^It's sort of hard to miss. It's the enormous building next to Wicked Twister's back spike.

At Q&A at Mania, they said that they had no plans to tear down aquatic stadium in the near future and that it would be extremely difficult to do because it's basically all concrete.

^^ It's over on the beachside, by Wicked Twister and the big wheel.

I could've sworn I took a pic of it, but seems that I didn't.

They can always blow it up!

^No, not a 4D coaster. After the openings of TTD and Mav the past five years, I would bet on a B&M or Woodie. But Kinzel said in an interview at CoasterMania that they were not planning a woodie. I still think the B&M flye ris not dead and if a park comes up with a good layout with good elements it could be amazing. I like the Superman coasters but Cedar Point culd come out with a flyer way better than any other flyer. Even Tatsu. I think a flyer with huge inverted turns would be awesome. And it could start behind Matterhorn and Scrambler, the lift go over Macaroni's towards the beach, drop down onto the beach, do a huge inverted carousel turnaround back over to where the Stadium is now, and a zero-g roll over the path to the Peanuts Playground(removed for this) where it would do a cobra roll ,a helix, and a new inversion , and then an inverted turn back to the area by the station , a zero-g roll next to the station, and into the brake run. Sound good? Look at the Live Local satellite image and picture it. I would draw it out on there but don't know how.

^Did you listen at Mania? He said that that Renegade was very successful and that they want to repeat that success at other parks. He also said that there would not be a flyer at a CF park as long as he works there.

Also (I forgot about this), I believe they're planning to do more shows next year.

Add a GCI at Carowinds.

I really don't get why they never put in more B&Ms at Cedar Point. Raptor and Mantis were both huge successes in their day and Raptor still continues to be.

If any coaster would fit in at CP (type of coaster not size) it would be dominator. This ride is great and something CP doesn't have already. A floorless coaster would add something different. I don't want to see anything leave GL as I visit this park every other year or so and find it relaxing and fun at the same time...

The next Coaster CF very well could get at one of their parks, maybe CP, will be a B&M Dive Machine. Monty Jasper's comments at Coastemania seemed to hint at the possibility. They had gone to Alton Towers to see Oblivion also. We'll see.

The only good ride at Geauga Lake is Dominator, if they get rid of that, there wouldn't even be a point of going out of the water park.

Also, I can see, Cedar Point trashing Soak City and the parking lot for it, to get new coasters.
