Batman sitting at SFFT?

Are track pieces of the SFNO Batman the Ride sitting at SFFT? It's a great coaster design and they might be able to fool the GP if it was installed at SFFT though Great White is not far away.

Yah, I've been reading at a few sites that Its sitting at SFFT. It does suck that the Great White is a few miles away , but hey a coaster is a coaster. SFFT could use a invert, but I'd much rather prefer another lay-out. Though our rumored flyer from 1956 wouldn't be that bad.

Just glad that we're getting something. Well hopefully. I still haven't been out to the park to check out Tony Hawk though.

They should remove half of the last corkscrew and reprofile it to have a really extended extra helix off the cliff before returning to the station. HA!

Who cares. lol A coaster is a coaster. I'd just like for SFFT to get something. We waited a while to get Tony Hawk, so why not get us another coaster.

It would be cool to interact it with the quarry and that, but I doubt that happens. See If we had our flyer we would be in good shape. It would have been twisted with the quarry. Oh well. I'm not complaining that we might get a new coaster. Heck I'm from SA and I can careless if theres a clone, but its really a mirrored version, down the road.

I can imagine a geeky coaster enthusiast 2 B&M mirrors in one night marathon.

B:TR at SFFT will be by far Six Flags second dumbest business move ever!!!!! The first was buying up all those parks in the 90's. Sea World and Great White is literallly within walking distance from SFFT. I can't think of a single reason why you would install yet another clone so close to one. It does not pass the common sense test one bit. Sure add another coaster, but would you put two Walmarts literally right next to each other? Then why do that with a coaster. If B:TR is in fact at SFFT, I think it is there for storage purposes only, because I just can't fathom Six Flags making such a horrible business move.

While I agree that it's not an incredibly good business move to install the ride at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, I have to disagree on "Sea World and Great White is literallly within walking distance from SFFT."

From memory, I recall having to drive a good distance to get to the different parks, and Google maps confirms that. It says that they are 17.1 miles apart. Why would you want to walk 17.1 miles in random Texas weather, especially if walking would require you to walk on the 1604 Loop? Haha, I wouldn't do that even if I was desperate enough. It would be like Frogger San Antonio style!

And I also agree with the idea that it is there for simply storage... It's one of the closest parks to the NOLA area, and it has the room to hold the ride.

17.1 miles - HAHAHA There are two Wild mouse coasters under a mile from each other in Seaside Heights, NJ at Funtown Pier and Casino Pier. If they think they could put two mirrored coasters within the same metro area of a higher pedigree, then let them try it.

Well it's not like Great White is at a Six Flags park.

I don't see much of any issue with this, this is something that only enthusiasts will care about.

The SFFT peeps will love having a "new" coaster.

Thats dumb. I'd like to see a SF coaster actually get a CUSTOM B&M invert(to my knoledge...every invert SF owns is a clone). IMO its a cheap investment.

Why is it dumb?

It would just otherwise sit in New Orleans and rust and never be used again cause we all know that SFNO is never going to open again.

I think it's a smart move myself. I hate to see any Beemer go to waste.

Or they could sell it to an outside company and get some money for it. SFFT has always in my mind, been one of the best looking SF park and i'd rather see them get a custom invert.

Also something to keep in mind is that Six Flags has a habit of moving coasters to Six Flags parks just for storage.

They moved Astroworld's Ultra Twister to SFA and it has yet to budge from that spot.

I'm just hoping It wont stay here for storage. I don't mind a new coaster at all. Its a mirrored version of Great White though... I wouldn't mind having Ultra Twister also. lol. We should all be happy that we are atleast getting something. Better something than nothing.

I'd like to see how this SFFT version would ride out quality wise. I already highly regard the Great White. It would be nuts to have two of the best B:TR clones running great in the same area.

It only operated for 2 years, so I'd hope it would be in pretty good running order, minus of course the fact that it sat in water for a few weeks.

I also prefer the mirror image versions, so it would be neat to see one of those survive.

The only bad thing about this is now we wont get that long rumored inverted that was to dive off the quarry walls something similar to way Superman and the Rattler do. Would have been a great ride but anyway at least the ride is getting rebuilt instead of the scrape heap..

Having the coaster installed would be great, but what would really kick it up a notch would be to lower the support structure and have it rather low to the ground. Having that furious back half partially buried, themed appropriately giving it a Nemesis feel would be awesome and very unique setting it apart from any other Batman Clone. I must say I would love that.

I don't see why they wouldn't put the ride in. It may even be rethemed a bit. Who knows. They only need to pay the cost of setting up the ride. It's not like the ordered another clone for the park. Why let it go to waste when they may as well continue the trend of placing a Batman ride in every Six Flags Park. And there's a new Batman film coming out next year so you never know.

Maybe they secretly signed a contract with sea world to have them remove great white so they can install batman, and then sea world will get a new coaster..

just kidding.

Thanks to Brandon at sfftnet.com he has put together this drawing (MS Paint ) of all the possible places B:TR could go in SFFT.

Bottom right red is Great White from Sea World, pretty much the same ride here except its mirrored.

Top green, is part of the waterpark. I'd say the least likely place.

Red, is the fair grounds If i'm not mistaken. Doubt It will go here either.

Also, to clear things up, B:TR doesn't fit in the area where S:KC occupies. I believe a lot of custom work would have to be done If they would want to fit it there. So thats a no go.

Light blue is the maintenance parking lot. There might have to be a themed area planned back there. With maybe some flat rides...

Bottom yellow is to the far back of the park next to Tony Haws Big Spin. This is the place where I would like B:TR the be located.

Also, one thing, they could turn this into a parking lot coaster... but to the right of the Texas shape wave pool is a fairly new parking lot? I think all the buses and RV's park there. Its a little isolated from the park, but don't count it out I guess...

To keep up with some of the updates I say suggest going over to sfftnet and checking out this thread. http://sfftnet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=839

"Hey, must be the money..." That's a boat load of pieces. I read about this on another site. If it fits between Scooby Doo and Poltergeist I'd be amazed. Basically I'm pulling for the light blue suspected spot. It would be great for a theme oddity like that would be rather than behind the Boardwalk.

^^Yup, I saw some of those pictures on weeweeslap earlier today. It's good to hear that they're actually putting this ride to use, instead of it sitting at SFNO rusting.

I've just came to this conclusion. Since SFFT got rid of Joker's Revenge a few years back... Its now time to repay SFFT. So SFNO is shipping us Batman. Thats the only logical reason I can come up with. Anyways. Its glad to see batman coming, though It still could be in storage, but I doubt that. I'm just waiting for a press release to be 100 % sure its staying here.

Now, were are we going to fit it...

Jester (Joker's Revenge) didn't follow it back. Despite going backwards that Vekoma is very early Arrow looking. Great Escape already has Steaming Demon and the such.

I'd be way more happy for this than waiting for the SLC fairy @ Great Escape.

I put my money on SFFT getting this; it really wouldn't be logical to store it there and ship it to another park.

It's definitely not going to Six Flags El Paso nor Frontier City and Elitch Gardens.
