Hypersonic XLC to go? or not to go?

Hey guys,
I have heard rumors that XLC at KD will be dismantled after labor day. I have also heard it will stay for the remainder of the season, and I have heard it will move to Carowinds. What do you guys think or know that I might not know?

Aww... I'm going to KD next year and that ride looks great. If it went to Carowinds, I was supposed to go this year, but cancelled the trip.

It's too bad that I never got to ride it, although I've heard that it's pretty wild. Where'd you find this rumor?

I've seen that rumor all over the place, but I can't remember where. Might be from here though..

Interesting rumor thats for sure. Well I will say that I will not miss XLC at all if it is indeed removed. It spends more time not running than actually running. So how can one miss something that never seems to work? But if the rumor also holds true that it will move to Carowinds, well that just wont make sense. Move an unreliable coaster to another park? Location has nothing to do with this being a crappy unreliable ride and moving it south won't make a bit of difference.

I for one would hate to see it torn down. From my perspective, the launch was more intense then "Kingda Ka", XLC's launch put butterflies in my stomach, KK did not.

I've been debating a weekend coaster trip in October, and am tossing between King's Island & Dominion. Ultimately it's between XLC (since it's suppose to be coming down at the end of the year) & The Beast (ohh...Fall ride!!!).

It's still up for sale on that site.

I can't see this ride going to any other CF park. I get a headache just thinking about this ride.

I'm looking forward to see it gone. It hurt me enough.

I say let it go. I like the ride but the brake run at the end gives me the worst discomfort I've had on any coaster. Plus it breaks down right much.

Hypersonic USED to be a reasonably fun ride when it first opened. However, back then it also spent more then half the day closed for various mechanical problems. Nowadays its just plain painful and is still a maintenance issue. The launch is pretty good but after that its pretty much just holding on for dear life and getting knocked around like mad, and finally bracing yourself for the worst brake run ever.

I've read the labor day rumor on different sites and I honestly hope its true. I strongly doubt they would move Hypersonic to a different Cedar Fair park, due to the fact its a generally bad ride with horrible capacity is bad enough, however the fact that its also still a maintenance nightmare doesn't help any.

I was at KD today and it seemed to be a toss-up as to whether the trains were running with actual riders or doing testing with nobody. I asked a couple of ride ops if the ride was done at the end of the season and they said "yes".
