I don't believe it at all. If you are in on a project, you have to sign a form that states you will release no details, and should you do exactly that, legal problems could head your way.

The 2009 project wouldn't be nearly complete at this time. They would only have a rough idea of what they were going to do, nothing definite.

True or not, wouldn't they want people to say "better than anything in the park"?

Well, it could be the biggest Kiddie coaster ever! With a stunning 30 foot twisting drop . Or mabey, the biggest bathroom in the park, heck mabey even a 500 foot dippin' dots stand? *okay, I just woke up...*

Anyways, time will tell.

I don't believe it either. I mean, nothing could be better than Maverick, so it is therefore a LIE.

Let's see. A poster said that they are improving the park for next year..... I could believe that. In fact I'll go out on a limb here and start a new rumor.... Cedar Point will improve the paqrk for 2010 too. Plus I hear they are planning some improvement for 2011. If were lucky there will be improvements for 2012 and 2013 but that is a long shot.

I'd be very happy if they'd just bring back the Pirate Ride and Earthquake.

I just think CP always like competition. TTD doesn't hold the height record. I mean, there has to be a 500 footer SOMETIME.

^I wouldn't mind seeing a 500 foot observation tower (to replace Space Spiral). Think about the photo-ops, and yes I am serious.

^ Nice idea or maybe even a 750 tower.

As for new coaster, its an Intamin plug and play, looping woodie. Why do you think they took it out of SOB.

That site said a lot, but at the same time said nothing at all. Me, personally, I don't believe a thing that is said until the actual parent company of the amusement park makes a statement. If the "ride" is coming in 2009, it is very logical to have them doing measurements at the park now. But I don't see why a construction company would be doing the measurements as opposed to the ride manufactorer since this SHOULD be still in the engineering phase and not quite construction phase just yet. My philosophy is seeing is believing. I'll believe it when pictures of the first footers for the "ride" are installed.

I think if there is measurements being done by a construction company the only logical explanation is an installation of a ride that is already constructed. Geauga Lake has probably 30 rides coasters included that need a new home. Some of the rides will just be scrapped. Sorry but Big Dipper looks like one of those rides...

Record Breaker...

tummy shaker....

Cedar Point 2009.... The world's largest buffet! featuring over 2,500 food items, and over 900 feet or counter space.

Seriously though, I doubt it will be anything huge. After all, the are getting Dominator for '08 .

Another waste of wood coming to Cedar Point with Mean Streak still standing? I think not, they'd get a better woodie.

Thankfully most of Villain is steel because of the structure. So you don't have to worry about wasting wood.

I was just trying to say how horrible of a ride it was. I'd rather sit on a Vekoma Boomerang for 24 hours straight than take another ride on Villain.

Haha, Villain's my #2 woodie behind El Toro. Of course, I rode in 2003, so from what I've heard it was a lot better then. Front row was the smoothest of any woodie I rode, and back row wasn't too bad though I wouldn't ride more than 3X in a row back there...it wasn't really heavy jackhammering or anything, from what I remember it was really more like small but hard jackhammering in spots. Still lots of fun front and back, other than the jolts of air in the last double up that hurt if you're a guy lol.

Sit 24 hours on a Vekoma Boomerang or ride Villain 10 times in a row? Now that is a VERY tough decision to make. But I think I would lean towards the 24 hours on a Boomerang. Villian ranks up there with my top 10 LEAST favorite woodies. Only wooden coaster worse than Villian that I can think of off hand would be Cheetah at Wild Adventures.

It was Villain 1 time in a row, lol. I'd still take Vekoma Boomerang 24 hours in a row..

A 500 or 600 foot intamin drop tower, like drop zone or something, would be insane and in my opinion probably the scariest ride ever created.
