Gerstlauer trains on Beast???

http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum...c.php?p=470642

Somebody posted pics supposedly taken of Villain and Wolf Bobs trains that have appeared at Kings Island.

I really hope they aren't planning on putting those things on Beast!

They now have 3 or 4 spare trains now sitting in storage. I really hope they are just going to be used for spare parts for Sonny.

Wow, I knew I should have gone on The Beast. Didn't have enough time. If they get those horrible g-trains then I'm definitely skipping it next time.

I will kill a puppy if they put those on Beast.

But please don't take that statement to heart. I would never kill a puppy. But I would be pretty damn mad.

I've only had the misfortune to ride one coaster with Gerstlauer trains, Hurricane at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion. It made a poorly engineered ride even worse with their strange U-bar lap-bar which was not meant for rides with laterals. I really hope they do not go on Beast, or any other coaster for that matter. lol.

The Beast with Gerstlauer trains...not gonna ride the beast anymore, I rode it when it still ran without magnetic breaking, way back when they let her run fast, 80's...this would pretty much finish the beast for good.

Its funny it only shows the cars and not the park they are in. How do we know if they are really at the park? Or are they still at Geauga Lake? I was at the park and never saw them. And alot of others have said they never saw them. Even from the tower.

From what I have read, it sounds like they may take the PTCs off Racer use those on SOB and use all of the G trains on the Racers.

If anything they should best the trains on Mean Streak.

Hahahahahahahahahaha

I mean the ride IS way to slow for laterals and such.

Yeah, So what do you call Renegade? Its at Valleyfair and Valleyfair is a Cedar Fair park and they are running the ride perfectly. I don't see them messing it up at all. (Not even with trims!)

^^^Yeah, I heard that rumor too. I can't see them running Racer's PTCs on SoB unless they add individual lap bars.

I asked someone if they were buzzbars or lap bars on another site, because I don't remember and they said buzzbars. Guess they were wrong..

Well it hasn't even been a full season yet. Give it a few years...

If they put g trains on beast... The beast will be dead once and for all. But somehow AT will put it on the top 25 wood coaster list...

Exactly! I believe that Ghostrider, Shivering Timbers and Mean Streak were all top 10, world-class rides when they opened. Where are they now? Nowhere near the top, thanks to Cedar Fair woodie maintenance. If Renegade was a plug-n-play then I wouldn't be worried about its eventual demise, but even the GCIs need some work.

I didn't even think of Racer. That's quite possible as well.

Either way, when you replace a PTC train with a G train, it's just wrong.

And by the way, this IS in the rumors thread, because I didn't see much more proof than the pic provided and you can't tell in the pic where they are.

Someone is saying they are sitting in the boneyard behind Firehawk.

Any locals want to investigate? http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum...cd7580856929e8

Magnetic braking, huh. Yeah right. Went on it this summer, same PTC trains, same relief logo, same lap bars, same speed, same tunnels, same g-forces, same airtime, same 4 1/2 minutes of fun, and same friction brakes. 'Nuff said. There ain't nothin' different with that ride, and i would never go to Kings' Island again if they changed that ride.

The brakes were upgraded in 2002, and the ride lost its buzz bars years ago. The tunnels have also changed over the years. Honestly a lot has changed with that ride.

And airtime?

Now I question whether or not you've ever ridden it

And where did you see friction brakes at? The ride has magnetic brakes, and you can even tell the difference no matter where you sit.

When the ride 1st opened, it was able to make it at least half way up the second lift hill.

Hehe...airtime. Beast. In the same sentence? LOL. Beast is known for its lack of airtime. Its really only known for its out-of-control middle of nowhere style, the helices, and tunnels. I mean...AIRTIME?? Where??

It used to have two pops of air I think right after the first tunnel/initial drop.

But when they trimmed it, that's all gone.

Beast is still a decent ride, but it fell out of my top 10 a while back and if they happen to do this to it, it will never make it back there again.

I guess it proves why noone ever tried to outdo Beast. That much wood is just a pain to keep maintenanced it seems.

When I rode it this past summer there was still a good bit of air at the beginning of the first half. Right after the tunnel, when it makes the second big drop, still got quite a bit of ejector going over it. I rode in the back seat a few times, which was all I could handle. My fragile, non-fat-padded bones just can't take the shaking.

Why Cedar Fair, why? G-Trains on Beast would be terrible. Heck, G-Trains on anything would be terrible.

^ they seem to work ok on Falken, I don't hear many people complaining about that one

I doubt there was ever air on that ride. EVER! Its not built for air whatsoever, though in Ohio, hitting a pothole gives you more air than anything in any of the three major parks (whoops, I guess mean 2) so I can see where that mistake can be made.

Tornado at Stricker's has more and better air.

It'll probably be like Roar @ SFA, not terrible, but not fixed up like it should pretty rough.

I fear for what the future may hold for Grizzly at KD... Hopefully it won't go south in its maintenance.

God, everyone beats Beast so much, but it really is not a bad ride at all. I rode it a bunch of times this summer and was a LOT of fun. And yeah, there is airtime on the first and second drops. Sure, the trim takes a lot of speed off, but it gets that speed back right away. It may not be as relentless as it once was, but a front row night ride is always a top ten for me.

Well in 2005 it was getting a bit "rough" (not SOB rough, but still not smooth like it used to be) and it was just kinda blah the first half compared to the way it used to run.

Beast isn't supposed to be an airtime coaster anyway, it's a terrain coaster really I guess you'd say.

This past summer I got one pop of airtime on the second hill. The only thing that bothers me about the magnetic brakes is the way they stop the train so abruptly. The old friction brakes did it slowly so it wasn't as noticeable, but with the magnetic brakes all of a sudden its like *BAM* you lose 15 MPH in one second... Not cool.

Night rides in the back car are still way awesome though. During the day its just not that great, though.

Yeah, they need to change the ACE walkback from morning to evening. LOL

It's much better at night. In the A.M. it was just sluggish and kinda boring.

Yeah I got 2 rides in my last trip, first one was at like 11ish in the front row, then I went back for a night ride just before closing in the back car. The difference was "night and day".

What was really bizarre though, was they were only running ONE train at night. Thankfully rain all day cleared the crowds out so it was still only a 2 train wait... 2 trains equalled about 10 minutes though.
