Sea World Florida

Well if you have been looking at Screamscape recently, you probably have already heard the rumors of a flying coaster coming to Sea World in Orlando next year or 2009. I personally think it is the perfect concept for the park, assuming the ride has a good layout and is a B&M and NOT a Zamperla, a Vekoma would be okay too I guess.

The latest rumor is that the coaster could only be three or four cars long and I think that is a horrible idea. I think it should be a standard eight, even Vekoma's six car flyers seem more dull and have horrible capacities. The idea that each train is themed to a different animal does sound cool though, and the idea of a watersplash sounds very original for a flying coaster. All I can say is that I hope the rumors are all true, except for the three or four car coaster trains - even if the coaster doesn't end up being a flyer I would still be happy with a new major coaster of any kind at Sea World.

I think with a dual loading platform and two exit platforms leading to 4+ car operation could make any capacity issues fine.

I've never seen Kraken with a line longer a few trains wait in my 3 visits to SWO so I'm not too concerned.

This coaster might make me actually want to spend the money to visit the park. Last time I was in Florida I couldn't justify paying the admission just for Kraken and Journey to Atlantis.
With Aquatica and a flying coaster, I may just have to visit the park.

seems like a good choice for Sea World.

I still don't like the idea of 3 or 4 cars per train simply because it is less fun in the back seat and usually that means it will be a smaller, shorter coaster

Sea world has always been a marine park. If you do not get anything from seeing the animals you shouldn't go. It will be a big wast for you.

I enjoy seeing the marine animals, but last time I was there it was the choice of Universal Studios/IoA or SeaWorld, and the price for watching the shows and the few rides they had didn't seem to justify my time and money.

The only reason I go to Sea World is because I buy a Busch Gardens pass good at all the Busch parks, so I figure while I'm in Orlando I should go since its free and all.

This seems like a cool idea. I guess I wouldn't see a loop in this. : ( A water splash is a neat new element for a flyer if they do it.

Can't you buy some "super Florida pass" where you can go to IOA, Universal, Wet n' Wild, Sea World, BGA, Discovery Cove, and Adventure Island (in Tampa) or something like that? That way you could go to all the parks you want, including Sea World even if you just wanted to go to ride Kraken

I've never heard of that, but it's a great idea. I doubt you would get competing parks to join in though.

I'm pretty sure that's the "Orlando Flex Ticket", and it's for 14 days. I'm not sure if they still have it, though.

Just to clarify, Aquatica will not be part of Sea World. It will be a separate park with a separate admission and gate. It's across the street from Sea World, and I'm not even sure if you'll be able to walk from one to the other, or if they'll run shuttles. Expect it to be more like the way the other water parks are set up near the two Busch Gardens parks.
