Sfkk...

According to ScreamScape, thier is a possibility that Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom will be sold, to Theme Parks LLC. They report that Theme Parks LLC did make an offer, which was turned down, but they may make a higher offer to acquire Kentucky Kingdom.

So would this be good news SFKK? Or bad?

I think its good for SFKK and Six Flags Inc. Six Flags doesn't have the finances to renovate SFKK as it needs to be (as in much higher quality thrill rides, etc), so a sale will help SFKK get the attention it needs. On Six Flags Inc's side... SFKK isn't a top Six Flags park, and is in need of renovations and rides, so its really a drag on an in-debt corporation.

Looking at the difference in KK now and back before SF bought it, I don't see how a sale could be anything but good.

I haven't been back since 05 (drove right past the place on the way to Kentucky Rumbler too in 06 LOL) and it was one of the worst looking parks I've ever seen, as far as upkeep.

I've heard it's gotten better since Shapiro took office, but can't say since I haven't been back.

I don't think they will sell....they need to sell SFA!

As far as if this is good or not, they could be sold to a company that buys them for the land then scraps the park. Not likely, but it's happened before in say...Houston?

It's hard to tell if a small company would do better with the park, I suspect they would.

^You cant buy SFKK just for the land, they have a land agreement with the Kentucky Expo center. The park is in the middle of the expo parking lot, so if anything happens to the park as far as closing or it being sold, they would need to deal with the expo center before doing anything.

Six Flags absolutely has the finances for it, they've just spent years pouring all of it into ultracoasters for SFMM and SFGAdv. I'd rather have them put their money into a really nice renovation of SFKK than five new coasters. It's pitifully bad. There was peeling paint and trash all over when I was there in June.

This couldn't be anything but fantastic for Kentucky Kingdom. I really, really want it to be good. I tried so hard to enjoy myself. But the bitter taste of its horrid mistreatment can do nothing but linger as long is it is still under its current management.

Isn't that point of view already 5 years old? The regime of those large additions is gone. I'm disappointed that the park hasn't seem to raise out of its gum sticking dirty self, the park with a service road running half through it.

I'm borderline of saying I'd rather have that park than SFA.

Even the new Management team is doing the same thing. they have there Favorite parks that are getting every thing and others that are getting nothing. SFKK could have received Thomas town instead of SFNE getting Thomas town as it's second Kiddie land of 2007.

as for Theme parks LLC buying it it's a good thing. if anyone thinks the park was better before SFI then you should be happy about this. That are the same company. they build KK and sold it to Premier parks. they then used that money to Build Magic Springs Cristal Falls. so It's a good thing.
