| BGA 2009 Flat in Timbuktu
I went to BGA today and saw a construction fence around Phoenix in Timbuktu. Looks like big enough area to house a large flat of some kind. Maybe a frisbee. Hopefully something I'm interested in riding. I also saw some construction walls in the Bird Gardens. Maybe something, don't know. Their 50th anniversary is next year so expect another large expansion/renovation in Timbuktu or the Bird Gardens.

I highly doubt, and seriously hope, they won't remove Phoenix. They repainted it a few years ago, and every time I go to BGA I ride it. It still scares me sometimes, but that's nothing compared to how it scared me when I was younger. A giant frisbee would be ideal in my opinion, then again a new coaster for the 50th would be sweet.

I don't know what's going on but I saw a fence large enough for a large flat around Phoenix. And it was closed. I also noticed a large spot of land where they could put a coaster in the Bird Gardens. But I think it is pretty late for a Busch park to not even begin construction for the next Spring/Summer. They started Sheikra more a year and half before. And Jungala was started over a year before it opened. Jungala is awesome.

| What are you talking about! Phoenix is not going anywhere. It is currently under rehab. The only part of the ride that has a wall is the q line. It is easier for the park to put walls up while they rehab the rides. It is currently getting a new paint job and some work on the seats. See below, the new blue paint, construction walls and seat work. ![]() ![]() ![]() As for the other area you are referring to. I didnt see anything in the bird gardens. I did see a small wall section in the land of the dragons in which one small section a couple of land creatures are getting worked on. Sorry any new coaster will be 2010 IF they get one. Word is its a hyper and will be done in 2010 or 2011 if it is going to happen at all, it is still just a rumor..

Sorry. I know no coaster next year. From what it looked like for me, construction walls around Phoenix. Since no one had reported it yet, I thought maybe it was just put up that day or week and no work on what was being done had started yet. I also saw the fences in Land of the Dragons but didn't think it was worth noting. There are fences in Bird Gardens in very front part past Xcursions on the way in.

Oh, I didnt go around the front part this time, I think I saw some fences there last time I was up in the front. Probably just doing some rehab and improvements. Over the past several months all around the Bird Gardens they have been makeing small improvements to update and make the experience nicer. They have added some plate forms that you can walk out on and a few other things. Most likely just over all upgrades and improvements. The last word I got from a reliable source about the BGT Hyper whas that it was on hold for a year or two. There was some talk about it happening in 09 but B&M are to buisy this year for next years rides. If the economy holds together its possible that a new coaster could come in 2010 to draw some of the crowds away from IOA and the new Harry Potter Stuff. Plus with Sea World getting there new coaster in 09 in may be a couple years before BGT gets theres. While I wish they would just build it I think they are doing so much more to the park as in over all improvements. I am always fascinated to see how much BGT puts back into there parks, cleanliness, overall improvements and just the way the park is run.

I know, the Jambo Junction animal area is a good addition as well. I really enjoyed. And whatever they are doing to Bird Gardens is probably gonna be a needed improvement. My grandparents live in Palm Harbor(30 minutes away) and they want to go back but see no point if they don't replace Katonga, which they love, with something new. I told them about Jungala's animals and that helps but they want a new good show. Any word on replacing Katonga?
