As busy as Pete stays I doubt it. But on a stressful day, I'm sure he comes out here and laughs his head off and then says: "Ahhh. That feels better". "TN. Take me away!" (calgon commercial)

There is a lot of back country traffic and rather than having a "gate keeper" the road, automatic gates made the most sense. They have been up about 8-12 months.

Thumbs up I've been your stalker for the past year. =]

hey everyone. my names Jeremy. I've been reading what u guys have said for over a year now, no joke, and ive tried to register several times but havent been able but they finally fixed the bug and i get to talk with you guys. i'm really excited. very. I've got so much to say but i dont even know where to start... =] but hello.
the only thing i know to comment on right now is how u are all talking about the fire on adventure mountain. i think when they announced it didnt they say there was several differant parts to adventure mountain? I think they said one of the parts is called "Fire Mountain." And there were a few more i belive. i dont remember where i saw that, but i think thats what i heard.
i went to dollywood today and saw all the construction on the train ride you guys are talking about too, and i was wondering if you guys think that might be the road to the hotel they are gonna build? Sorry if you have already talked about this stuff... and that i wrote so much.
=]

^ Welcome to TN, Jeremy. And no worries about the long post, I have written several longer than yours in my time here.

IMO, the Hotel, when it does indeed get built, will be outside the park but close enough to be a viable option.

thank you!!
and does River Battle have fog now? I was there about 2 weeks ago, it might have been the opening of Kidsfest when Dolly was there and there was fog everywhere! It was so cool! I'd never saw it like that before and havent since, but i thought it looked really fun to ride.
And to respond to Mystery Mine getting fog, i did see that and its a lot cooler! I about peed on myself.
(oh, and to clear up who I am a bit more, I'm 17. I go to Dollywood a bunch. and i just really love the place. I want to work there next year. that'd be awesome I think.)

Yea I want to work there too. Yea I know mystery with fog makes it so much more mysterious and the crusher drop more of a "WHAM" drop lol.....Hmmmm...I didn't know River Battle had fog......well thats new!.............About the hotel, I think they will put it, whenever the build it, back in the hills or somewhere off the Dollywood park area....But you all know that if they are putting a second train station in soon, that they have to have something big coming soon so....lol...
I can't wait til Pete tells all about all this stuff..I hope he does soon, And Jeremy Welcome!!!!!...We have alot of fun and exciting talk here which you can odviously see, We also come up with some pretty great idea's for Dollywood......

I was just browsing other Herchend properties for Ideas and I thought of another Premium experience they may be doing. I could see them bringing in a mini golf, putt putt if you will, course into the park. No sure where they'd put it, down in the country fair I imagine.

Also, as for the train loop, what if they did something like Stone Mountians Crossroads?

They do seem to mirror each other some. That does make me think the next coaster may be a launch type coaster like Powderkeg. That is fine by me. Since they got a Tornado slide at Wild Adventures I am hoping we'll get one at Splash Country.

I was just showing some dollywood videos on youtube to my kids and saw one about blazing fury closing to make room for another train station. Is this true? I have always thought it would be awesome to have another station for drop off on the other side of the park.

No, that single YouTube video has put that urban legend into full gear, I kept getting asked if Blazing Fury was closing last year and I kept saying no, but it's still going around...

Dollywood did some refurbishment work on Blazing Fury last season and even added a new train, to my knowledge, it's not going anywhere- that is one classic Herschend ride they want to keep.

Also, for you Sha-Kon-O-Hay! fans out there... some good news from Knoxville.com:

Quote:
An eight-song CD by Dolly Parton commemorating the Great Smoky Mountains National Park's 75th anniversary and sold in area Food City stores has netted more than $5,000 for a park support organization.

Food City Area Manager Steve Trout presented a check for $5,032 on Friday to Jim Hart and Holly Burcham of Friends of the Great Smokies National Park. The presentation was held at the grocer's Kodak store.

Parton, a Sevier County native and long-time supporter of the mountains, wrote all eight songs on the CD.

The CDs sold for $10 each. For every CD sold between March 16 and April 30, $8 of every sale was set aside to benefit Friends of the Smokies, an independent nonprofit group working to preserve and protect the park through fundraising and educational activities.

Parton's album is titled "Sha-Kon-O-Hey!", derived from the Cherokee words for "Land of Blue Sky," the tribe's name for the Smokies.

While at the park yesterday, I spoke with the director of maintenance and construction. And he said Adventure Mountain would be built for 2010. I asked about building another coaster and he said it was on the horizon, and that they have to try to keep all groups happy by building new things that pertain to many people. He also said AM is taking awhile because the whole attraction is being custom made and not just bought.
