I say a sit down restaurant will happen in the area fairly soon, if not this year. When they expand into the train loop, that area will be a lot more busy with foot traffic, I imagine, and there will need to be some eateries and shops along the way. I'm not really expecting much in the way of any rides/coasters for this year, but I bet there will be a lot of extra pizazz added here and there. I'm hoping the shops around the Pines will be reopened. I've also read somewhere (may have been on here) that, if you look at the cycle of the 50s shows, we should be getting a new one fairly soon, and I'd expect a fairly big production. Who knows, we might even get a fireworks show at the crossroads. Pretty small stuff like that would be great, in my eyes.

Ok first off, CoasterCraze, don't say anything about us calming down. I mean seriously dude look at basically all of your posts. And if they don't build AM like its supposed to be in the picture then what was the point of the picture in the first place. Its 2 acres.

And Dollywoodlover1 (Greg is your name i think), when did anyone mention anything about a new show?? And what is your source?

Well, if his saying calm down doesn't work, maybe mine will. This is brinking on the point of ridiculous here, you all need to stop bickering and get along before the mods decide this topic isn't worth hosting... just a note of caution.

And when I worked at DW, the food outlets always closed an 1-1.5 hours before park closing, unless the entire park closed early, which is also known as a 'soft closing', in which the rides go down starting with TT with the imaginary line working its way down... pushing guests to the trams.

However, most of the outlets at the center fountain and Showstreet would remain open after closing, typically.

I was actually unaware that they were bickering. I guess I'm just used to it all. People coming in and getting people all worked up, and then being like CALM DOWN!... I guess we all need to mature a little.

Now... Officially BACK ON TOPIC....

...That's all... I have nothing on topic to say... :-\. Just that the site/widget aren't back up yet...

I don't believe that we will ever see Dollywood getting a spectacular fireworks show. "Smokey the Bear" would not approve in such a densley forested area as well as considering DW's close proximity to the GSMNP. But who's to say that they couldn't come up with some type of alternative nighttime experience/light show...that would be awesome!

I was just looking for a reason to go back to DW and a B&M looked like a good reason. That may be a while from now, but with DW, as many people before me have said, "You never know."

^^Where is that? Do you mean Patriot Park between Teaster and the Parkway (near the Old Mill restaurant)? That area is much more out-in-the-open for not risking potential forest fires when compared to DW.

^Is that park even still open? Every time I'm up there, they're using the parking lot for people to park, and walk around town, but the park was never open when I was up there.

Actually, a survey was done years ago for what I assume is the design of the upper-train loop and the central 'lake' had a fountain/laser/firework show set to music.

Lol yea my name is Greg........No I didn't mean a new stage show...I meant that the 25th anniversary kick off( grand opening) will be televised......Yea ya never know. That could be what Dollywood is wanting to do with the train loop clearing....but I really think they're gonna try a launced coaster first.

I just happened to remember- DW has done fireworks shows in the past. The last time I was there(Christmas 2004), fireworks were involved at the Christmas show at the lake. I don't remember what show it was, but I distinctly remember fireworks when I walked past it at the end of the show.

*EDIT*: The show was Carol of the Trees.

That would be great if it ever happens and if they know how to pull it off safely, regarding the possibility of catching trees on fire. Did anyone else notice that during last year's Christmas In the Smokies, the small firework finale at the end of Carol of the Trees was cut? What was up with that? That one small roman candle-type pop at the end is the closest DW has ever come to a fireworks "show".

Yes. I saw SDC's logo a few days ago. It looks too disneyish.

I hope Dollywood's 25th logo looks more "Dollywood". It will probably have a sparkling butterfly and such. IDK

I wasn't trying to bicker earlier. I was making a point.

Anyway, Greg, what is your source for all this information?

Btw, Pete, you need to hire a new conductor for the train thats sounds like he is actually from down south here. The poor guy couldn't barely even say howdy right. Sounded more like howldy lol

I saw this on another post, thought I would share. "Funny thing is that I heard from a "reliable source" that Dollywood was getting a B&M invert next year."

I wonder what this "reliable source" is and how can I get in touch with them, haha. :P I would love to see an B&M Invert in Dollywood in the Form of Nemesis or Black Mamba. Although I'm convinced it will either be another wooden coaster, launched or a combination of both, I am keeping my hopes up for a B&M still. It could happen. There hasn't been an official announcement yet .

I personally think that an Invert is my LEAST favorite of the B&M coasters. they're just so intense... Too Intense for me...

I like just normal B&M's......like Wildfire...Philip what kind of coasters( based on intensity) do you ride???? I like coasters like Tennessee Tornado and Mystery Mine. Thunderhead was my first big coaster, and that feeling of heading down the drop like that put a bad influence on coasters into my head lol......I'm like, "Now will this give me that feeling or not"....and sometimes I just hop on and hold on lol....

I would say Batman would have an intense Zero-G roll because it's right after the first loop where it's going pretty fast still. The zero-G Roll on Afterburn Is not really intense. The Batwing is what kills my legs the most. It's very intense but freaking awesome, haha. I'm already imagining how a large Invert would look in that valley behind TT...

What kind of shops were around the Pines? I imagine that would be really nice...I agree, smaller stuff can really make an impression on some folks. And we absolutely LOVE Dreamland Drive-In so we'll be sad to see that go. I hope the new show will be as good as or better (if that is possible). The last time we saw Dreamland, the character Bertha (Michelle, I think is her name) was different. Did she leave the show or was it just her day off? She is SO talented.

I was wondering if there was anymore mention about Timber Tower being removed? If they do remove it, a drop tower would be really fun. And there is not really much room in that area to replace it with anything else other than something like a drop tower.
