it wasnt crowded! ok so the only different things i noticed since last time i went...
1)the screen on mystery mine about the second lift isn't working.
2)the water at the end of slidewinder is mising because we didnt get splashed at all after going down the drop.
3)and it was so cool seeing the progress on AM. nothing to say really, but it was neat to see the bull dozers and dirt piles. =] and the fence.
and they turned the fog on river battle on again! i guess they only do it when it gets stormy because it rained for just a minute. but the fogs so neat.

Where did you get that it wasn't crowded? An hour wait for Tornado is crowded, IMO. Also, when did it rain? I was there from open to close and I don't recall any rain, unless it was when I went to Dreamland Drive-in.

PETE, get somebody to trim the weeds around the turn before you go down the drop on Tornado!! I got bushwacked!!

Also, I can't remember about this or not, but has there always been just 3 motion "pods" on the front row in the simulator? (White Lightning) If not, then there is now.

uh a light just flashed and stuff but i guess they'll have it fixed in a day or two and it'll be working again.
and we'll we got there when it opened so we didnt have to wait long for the roller coasters. but i mean it wasn't all that bad. I'd just say it was crowded like a regular day. haha but it rained about... uh somewhere between 3 and 5. we were next to TN tornado when it did it. A few minutes later we passed some lady that told us it wasn't even raining on the other side of the park! It was really funny. but it did rain pretty badly. everybody was slipping and stuff when they were walking. =]

Hey Pete,

On the Skyzip page at Dollywood.com I came across this statement under the essential page, it says:

"SkyZip is the first of a series of extraordinary experiences to launch exclusively at Dollywood. Stay tuned for new adventures launching later this year."

I was wondering there was any additional information you could give about this or any hints???

Thank you!

The video thing on MM messes up all of the time. I'm sure it will be fixed soon.

I went to the 4 o' clock showing of Dreamland Drive-in, so I was probably there when it was raining.

By the way, has anyone ever noticed that there is like a random beam sticking out of the side of the land on the outside of the train loop? Is it a prop, or what? If it is a prop, then it just seems a little random.

Did you report it to a ride host?

There was this one tree last year just going down into the second loop off the overbank that kept growing back in a matter of days after House & Grounds would come out to trim it...

Yeah, you would think you were... although it did actually occur a few times.

After each time it was reported, I would typically do an empty test run in case a real safety risk existed, and I never managed to get smacked.

Hey guys, I was just looking around at pictures of mystery mine on bing.com.....and I found a site with some eye popping artwork of mystery mine! ...
Here is a shot of the building
http://www.forrec.com/p_imgs/tp_mm4.jpg
and here is one of a bunch of scenes in the mine
http://www.forrec.com/p_imgs/tp_mm7.jpg
If you all can make these images bigger and look real close at them, they are interesting...

I saw something interesting! On Dollywood.com (http://dollywood.com/dates-hours/) It has dollywood tentivaly opening on February 28th 2010! If that is true that would be the earliest the park ever opened. It is almost a year round schedule only closing for about 7 weeks. WOW!

I'm not saying this is official, everything is subject to change.

The site should be up soon along with the relaunch of the Splinter widget.

The date on the calendar is unfurtunately incorrect. It will be the end of March before we open in 2010.

I visited Dollywood on Tuesday and Thursday this week. It was my first time at the park and I really enjoyed it. I was a little upset that the screen on MM was not working. I thought it may be up by Thursday but it was not. Other than that, it was a great time.

The projector and sound effects were repaired after park closing on Thursday. Sorry you missed it. Come back and ride again!
