Well I think it would be pretty fun if they do...My my thing is, Where would they put them???? I mean country fair is pretty crowded already IMO.....So where???? Oh and I looked at SDC's RiverBlast....To me it favors River Battle alot...I mean the name, the boat, the style... but it looks fun...

I don't think it's nothing to get excited over. It is only just something that came to my mind. It hasn't been hinted or confirmed or anything so it's no use to have a big conversation about it,lol. But to answer your question, Something small could fit in the little area next to sky zip. I'm not sure if that area is completely used because I didn't go this year to look. I would love to see something like Chaos, Accelerator or Fireball come to Dollywood but those have a theme already and I can't see them fitting in with Dollywood unless it was in the Country Fair area. I don't know =|

Yeah, I don't think chaos or fireball would quite go with the wilderness pass theme. River Battle, Adventure Mountain, Fireball! Lol.

I'm looking forward to talking about 2011 also. I'm interested in hearing some hints from Pete again. Those are always fun.

I wouldn't look for anything else to come with AM next year. It would have been announced if any extra rides were going to be thrown into the mix.

The Chance Chaos that was at CC was removed a couple of years before the park closed, it's probably been scrapped like most of the other Chaos's. With the flyers and scambler gone, the only other flats I see making it to DW or SDC are the flying carpet and the S&S double shot, not counting some of the kiddie rides. Both of those were pretty fun, so whatever park gets them will be better off.

^^Yeah, that's what's fun, the hard hints. Then we all go crazy with excitement and name every possible ride, lol.

^ Well...you can't tell what's up their sleeves. Last year we were all bummed because Adventure Mountain was Delayed then Sky Zip came out of nowhere. There were a few games that came to Dollywood from Celebration City last year also. Oh, I had no idea. I found a site with some pictures of some of the rides and I saw that on there. It was probably an old photo I saw of Chaos then.

If I had a choice of what ride i would like to see come to Dollywood, I would probably choose the double shot.It looks like It can be painted and themed a little so It could work possibly. I would like to see Dollywood get a drop tower anyway.

Yea you really never know. Also, on November 3rd Dolly was at the park I think. I watching it on youtube and somebody asked her what they have planned for the 25th...And she said there are still some things to announce, but its still too early to announce them. Also that the 25th will be full of surprises and special things. So who really know's what they have planned lol....Yea to me that would be the only ride that would fit. They could repaint it and have it themed to a TNT explosion or something like that??? lol....

Well Christmas time is upon us once again!

In non Christmas news Knoxville News Sentinel profiled the park on there "green" habits. In a story here. (There is also a construction picture of Adventure Mountain). I thought this was interesting:
Quote:
Owens said the park uses a 6 or 7 to 1 rule, meaning "If you have a tree that dies or has to be removed, we replace it with 6 or 7 trees somewhere on the property."
The Herschend rule established back in the 60's was to plant two trees for everyone removed but Dollywood goes WAY above that.

at the end of that passage they say... "Dollywood is also working to restore native plants and trees to its recently acquired Dollywood Vacations property on the mountain overlooking the theme park. "We are going in and really softening that development so it is much more natural," said Owens."
does that mean starcrest resorts or is this for the new hotel?

It means Starr Crest Resort. If you go to the Dollywood Vacations website you will notice that it just does Starr Crest reservations. No hotels have been announced.

I caught that as well, I thought Dollywood just signed an alliance with Starr Crest, but this article alludes that they purchased the resort? Does anyone know for sure?

^Dollywood manages the properties. Like most cabins in the area the owners don't actually rent out there cabins themselves they let someone else do it.

Hey everyone, just returned from the park and both Imagination Cinema and Mystery Mine were down- apparently MM was down yesterday as well.

Otherwise, the park looked great and I haven't ever saw better tram efficiency at park closing than I saw tonight- props to the parking team!

Yep, Mystery was down all day on Saturday too. The Polar Express opened up and closed down off and on all day too. The new tree for Carol of The Trees looks amazing. I loved it. Also, (note: this is just my opinion) the giant snowman doesn't look near as good as the Christmas pyramid did. I was just expecting something bigger I guess. Other than that, the lights this year look amazing!! They keep moving my blue tree too! Haha, now its in Timber Canyon.

I won't be going till Thanksgiving weekend, however I've heard that they decorated the inside of Blazing Fury with 3,000 lights this year, on the burning buildings inside. So if your going you may want to check that out.

^^^ The Blazing Fury is decorated all the way to the the chase scene. There are no lights on the bridge. But the ride of the ride does look amazing though!!! It really is something to see!!

I went Sunday and it was awesome. I wish I had road Blazing Fury thouugh and seen the lights. That sounds really neat. I liked the snowman but the christmas pyramid is cooler since it's so big. Carol of the Trees was brighter, which was a plus. Otherwise it didn't seem any different than before. I loved all the lights, especially the icicles (i cant figure out how to spell that lol sorry) that were hanging from the red tree near the fair. I agree with whoever said it though, the trams did do a wonderful job. We only waited a few minutes and it was very crowded.
I SKYZIPPED! I'd never did that before. I have to say it was AMAZING. i don't like upcharge stuff, but it was awesome. You don't even feel like your up high. I especially liked the swinging bridge. I think the reason i liked it so much is that you got to explore a part of Dollywood you'd never saw before. It was neat to imagine what Dollywood's gonna like in 10 years.

I agree, Blazing Fury does look very amazing on the inside this year, but there are a few sections where I thought it should be just pitch black like normal. Other than that, however, it looks amazing. Its like the town is themed for Christmas just like the park, so you're not going into a whole new environment.

Like right after Molly is about to jump. That little section in there shouldn't have so many lights in it, IMO.

I was afraid the snowman wouldn't be as spectacular as the Pyramid was. I wonder where the pyramid went. Does anyone know if it went to SDC for their Old Time Christmas or did Dollywood sell it off? Hopefully it's just in storage and will return next year for the park's 25th season during the Smoky Mountain Christmas.

Willard, can you please describe the giant snowman? Is it on a steel frame wrapped with lights? Or is it illuminated with spotlights? How do you think it compares in size to the pyramid? Half the size or 2/3 the size (just wondering!)?

We were going to go for the opening weekend of SMC, but opted to wait until the 21st when all shows will be in full swing (hopefully the rides we all be operating back to normal then, too!) ;->

If anyone has pictures of the opening weekend, please post them soon! I would love to see some shots of the festival. Did the fireworks return for the Carol of the Tree's finale???

Sorry so many questions! The anticipation is killing me. . .

^No fireworks, i was so sad. I saw a picture while i was at the park of fireworks at the carol of the trees and i was excited but there weren't any. ={
The snowman was simply a big white snowman. It was bit smaller than the pyrmaid but it wasnt tiny. There were no lights on it but it had a spotlight shining on it that changed colors. It was neat and very festive just not as big as I was hoping. It is the biggest snowman I've ever saw though! haha
