Dollywood 2010

Hey guys and gals....Now that we all know that in 2009 we are getting Adventure Mountain, I think that we need to take a peek into 2010! As some of you may have heard or seen, on Wikipedia there is a thing under B&M that says that Dollywood is getting a Unannounced B&M Inverted Coaster for 2010. I personally think it would be a exciting thing to ride in Dollywood. But the thing is...Is we have watched it go on and off of there alot. So we dont know if its true or not. Please post your ideas or thoughts here in this thread on Dollywood 2010!

WOW! 2010 already?

They could sure use a B&M invert but never believe Wikipedia. Anyone can go on that site and post anything. I could go on there now and say Carowinds is getting a 300ft coaster in 2010.

Plus i think this should be in rumors unless there is already construction for 2010.

Isn't this topic a little premature? I mean we just got the 2009 announcement and you are basing this topic off of something from Wikipedia! I could go over there right now and post Dollywood is gettin' a new coaster in '09 but that's not the case.

I think this post is better off in the Rumor section.

I would like to see a Big Extreme Insane Thrilling Ride. Perferably A Huss Giant Frisbee called "BuzzSaw" in the Wilderness Pass near the 3 Point Shootout Game. After Adventure Mountain, Something Intense would make since.

How about instead of a B&M Invert, How about a Flyer? That could certainly make better use of terrain and probably a great place for Intrusting Elements.

Ok, here's the reason I suggested this be created. DW will be getting something big in 2010. All the signs are there. The creation of a new walk way, meaning the one that branches off the WP trail, electrical wires being ran up to the train loop, and even what appears to be preparation of the train loop for something big!
Also, DW's only invested 10 Million the past two years in rides. They're obviously saving for something!
And as far as the Wiki thing goes, the original one was up there for a while until one of my friends decided to delete it. Since then, it has been posted and reposted and the Mod's repeatedly trashed it! So there was obviously some grain of truth behind the original one allowing the Mod to leave it up! Think about it...

A B&M flyer would be awesome at Dollywood if they use the mountain terrain.

^^What makes you so sure that something is going on with the train loop? I mean they filled in the land in the bowl that they took out last year. Plus is 2010 really when a big coaster is coming? We got to keep our minds open to 2011 and 2012 too. Like someone said on the other thread, if they build another train station then that will cost money obviously and if they are gonna build an invert then they are gonna need a lot of money. Lets just not settle on one year just yet. Its way too soon for that.

I was there today. I saw the path were my friend was talking about where the new coaster will be going. Like he said, all that it needs is to be paved and it's ready. I'll try to explain where it's at. If you take that switch back path that leads to the train loop, there is a path that forks off. Supposedly thats where it'll go... And it appears that everything is cleared off up there for something...

Let me say this...If I were to go to Dollywood today, I could show you ten paths that I have no clue where they go. They are there for staff and other workers to allow access to land and facilities otherwise hidden to the park guests. Just because you see a path you've never seen before does not mean that's "where the new coaster will be going". Note that there has been NO announcement made on 2010 yet, it will be close to a year before that happens.

So let's not get our hopes up about a new coaster. You have to think this way...Why would they build a new coaster RIGHT NEXT to another coaster? That almost never happens in ANY park. If you are looking for a coaster, don't expect it to be right there in that valley with Tennessee Tornado, as many have already said Dollywood has plenty of land and is a large place, even if they do get a new coaster next year, it may not be back there.

I think we all need to calm down a bit and take some time from this discussion, it's almost pointless right now. Even if the big coaster is coming, it's over a year and a half away and we know nothing right now we should be talking about.

Dollywood is very creative. They never do what we think they're gonna do... Be prepared for anything!

^Seriously! I agree with you big time. There are a bunch of paths at Dollywood but that doesnt really mean anything. Most of the paths up there are just for employees.

I think ya'll are jumping the gun just a bit too early about 2010. Lets get TO 2009 first before we even worry about 2010. Nothing has been confirmed or released from Dollywood.

Plus, some of the land clearing off might be for Adventure Mountain. Nobody has confirmed where it is going to go in at yet, so you never know. Remember, its a pretty big attraction and some of the zip lines and stuff could come down from there. Also, those paths could be ways to get to certain parts of Adventure Mountain.

Anyone who dosen't believe the path is heading to the upper train loop for expansion purposes needs to take a look at any satelite image of Dollywood, which shows it running from TT directly to the upper train loop.

Next time you ride TT, you can see it from the overbank turn.

^^ True True. But this week is when we will be able to see where this thing will go and to discover stuff about 2010. I will talk to Pete Owens and ask him about the inverted thing on Wikipedia

I'm a huge fan of B&M inverts. I would love to see what Dollywood could do with one.

I am sure if Pete wasn't busy with Adventure Mountain along with all his normal duties, he would have put some of this to rest long ago...

Yal keep talking about a path near Tennessee Tornado but I hate to inform you that that has been there for years, even before Mystery Mine! A little known fact about Dollywood is Dolly has a private cabin of some sort on the property so you just never know what these paths are for. But don't be dissappointed thinking it's for a new coaster...

That path was originally built as an access road when TT was built and was exapnded to the upper train loop thereafter...

You might be thinking of her "apartment" on the second floor of Apple Jack's Sandwich Shop.

Why would she have a cabin on property when her family's cabin where she grew up is only 5-10 miles from it. That isn't true. As a former employee, I can vouch for that. She has her apartment over Applejacks and her dressing room below the Celebrity Theatre.

This info is false... I mean, why would she have a cabin when she has the apartment on the park property...?

That's why it's in the rumors section, you can dicuss anything you want.

And what's wrong with discussing the parks future? No matter how far out it is?

Did not know they had moved it. I was arguing the fact we had an open construction thread over something posted on Wiki.

SDC did that twice, and it's the same company. First they built Buzzsaw falls by Fire in the Hole. Then Wildfire right next to Buzzsaw falls. When they tore down Buzzsaw Falls two years later they built Powderkeg right where it used to be....so I guess that is 3 times. I don't see that idea being too far off.
