| Bucsh Gardens 2011 roller coaster
I have been hearing that there will be a new roller coaster at bucsh gardens in 2011. They are saying that they are closing the water part of Rino Rally to make way for the new roller coaster.

So get the payments for the designs/planning out of the way before the new owners come? I never got the water portion of Rhino Rally anyway.

There will be a kids coaster going into Land Of Dragons as well as a few other kiddie rides in 2010 to theme the land into Seaseme Street. Sound Familiar?

Either way I would put my money on a new major coaster for 2011, which seems so far away. Not sure what type it will be, maybe another woodie or a new B&M Hypercoaster more along the lines of Diamondback

It won't be another woodie, they really wish they didn't get the one they have ( Gwazi has been a maintenance child ) I have heard similar things about them getting a new coaster though, but until I see some footers and track, I won't believe it.

Yeah.. I'm pretty sure you wont be seeing any Busch part getting a woodie anytime soon (or maybe even ever again) Anyone who's been on Gwazi would know why. How can a coaster with such a good layout just be SO AWFUL!

Gwazi is awesome in my opinion...deuling or solo

If I had to guess I'd say a B&M hyper. That's the biggest hole in their lineup IMO.

With the course Inbev will take with the parks uncertain I'm not very confident in the rumors of any large attractions. I could see a sesame themed kiddie area given it woudl cost a fraction of a new major coaster.

As for the new coaster I think it would have to come in 2012 and I think it should by an Intamin Impulse coaster just barely taller than Wicked Twister (since that coaster was soccessful and fits into small space) or maybe a Mega-Lite coaster similar to Maverick. Either way, it needs to be Intamin (there are no Intamin coasters in BGA) and it should be in the empty space near Gwazi. cough... S&S Drop Tower would be nice... cough

The company has no Intamin rides in any of the parks. Intamin requires a malti attraction contract. Busch may not want to be forced into buying more rides if they dislike what they get from the company. You will never see an impulse coaster at BGA. They are way too laud to be around the animals. I could somewhat see a mega light but it's still unlikely. they are more likely to stick with a company they have worked with and trust.

Which brings me to the point that that very animal park, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, has an impulse coaster. Lastly, Dorney Park does have noise restrictions, which caused them to dampen their two B&Ms, but they have an impulse, which leads me to think impulses aren't as loud as B&Ms to begin with. So something tells me that isn't the reason why there won't be an impulse coaster there. I do agree that the company stays away from Intamins, but I think it's because of reliability issues. It seems residential areas mind the noise more than the animals. Maverick isn't a Mega-Lite. Mega-lite is a small Mega coaster. Like a Mega Coaster with less calories, so it isn't as big as the average american mega coaster. Last edited by Jerry S; 04-15-2009 at 03:55 PM. |

Both of the dive coasters are dampend...Kumba and Montu are extrmely loud and are right near animal attractions, so there is no way an impulse would be out of the question.....But BG likes dealing with B&M because they have proven to always be reliable...Kraken at SWO is dampened also, and I have no idea about Great White at SWoT...and by watching testing...Manta is dampened also.

Going along with what Jerry said, Impulses are only loud when you are near the station. You only really hear the "screech" of the launch when you are waiting for your chance to ride. Unless an impulse is placed directly next to, an animal exhibit, they would be fine.

Seriously I would think Busch cheaped out or was sold if they revealed plans for an Impulse. At Dorney it must have helped the launch, the loudest part of the ride, stood in the lowest part of the park basically in a valley. Any houses would actually be closer to Steel Force's helix by the pond.

^I agree that it would seem very cheap and shallow if a Busch park got an impulse, although if they ever did go with Intamin, it should involve a launch. They need launched coasters at their parks. Possibly a Mack, if Blue Fire does well. And as for noise on impulses V2 at GAm, which is a flat park, you can't hear the screech unless you can directly see the launch track/station. |

Jerry and Komatz - thanks for the information. for some reason my mind was not going to the Impulse U shaped coaster but to the Rocket coaster like Kingda Ka. I really don't know why. I also thought BGA did more to Leo - I agree it would be a big step back form other coasters they have added. also the capacity on the Impulse coasters are pretty low. They seem to be goign for coaster that can have higher capacity.

Rocket coasters would have higher capacity then an impulse, but they aren't reliable. Now that I think about it, I really hope Mack makes more LSM coasters. I can imagine a launched re-born Drachen Fire, but then I'm just dreaming. |

That is true the tigers are right there. If they were to get a larger coaster I woudl rather see a coaster with a solid layout. Impulse and rocket coaster lack that.

If BGA does get a coaster, I would imagine it to be similar to Apollos Chariot as there is no hyper, non inverting large coaster at the park...but then again, Florida does not have a stand up coaster either, so all anyone is doing is just hoping right now.

That is what I would think as well. If BGA was to get a coaster, most likely to be an B&M Hyper because there isn't any in Florida and those rides tend to draw in the crowds.

Most florida parks like B&M for the capacity. It does kinda make it boring for us here in Florida. Basically you get the same ride experience on Kumba, Kraken, Hulk(minus the launch), Montu, Dragons. There is only so many variations of loop, inline, immelman, cobra roll that you can do without it all seeming to be the same. I agree with Justin. I would love to see a coaster either B$M or Intamin here in Florida that has true airtime. We seriously lack airtime here in florida. I mean , the best drop outside of Sheikra is Ripsaw falls and thats a water ride. |

Sheikra has the best 2 drops, and DD Fire's Camelback is sweet. If you count Hulk's Zero-G-roll, i'd say that's number three. RoTM has tons of sweet drops, so I wouldn't exactly put Ripsaw at 2, though it has the best drop of any log ride...and JP has an awesome drop. Nonetheless, and newer B&M style hyper would be ideal, maybe with that 85* drop that was supposed to be on Behemoth would move to number one. Something like Blue Fire would be pretty cool too

The problem with getting a hyper is that they do not have enough land for a hyper coaster. And now that I have thought about it for awhile, I change my mind. I think the what BGA should do is creat a new land themed to the Sahari Desert in between Scorpion and Gwazi that is boardered by an Intamin Wing Rider Launch Coaster zooming through the "desert", surrounding the rest of the land which would include an S&S Drop Tower, Intamin Parachute Drop, and some kind of Simulator similar to the Niagra Falls one over near niagra falls and it could be themed to how the desert was created and made larger (torn by war and whatnot) again similar to this (note, first first 45 seconds are not about the ride): ------------------- Edit: Dang it! Just noticed there is barely any land where I thought there was. But I think they should still build the simulator as there is room for that!

The notion that they do not have enough room there is completely bogus... They have plenty of room to run it behind the scenes .

Okay, looking at Google Maps, there is enough room. The park map makes it look like there is nothing, but they could easily fit something big between Gwazi and SheiKra! And I do think they would and should go with a simulator ride!

Just like a few have already said, I think BGA has room for an new hyper. According to screamscape, these were the layouts that were mention: Quote:
Quote:
One thing you'll notice is there is an common theme, station within the park with ride heading out towards Kumba's lift and doing its thing somewhere back there. If anyone who has been on Kumba, before the drop, you would notice there is room back there. |
