Six Flags 2011

So, I can't help to think about what Six Flags has up their sleeves for their big 50th anniversary. What I was wondering is what any of you would do in the position of planning out the big celebration and what you would add to each of the parks to make it a big celebration. Will it be Disney big or just the usual Six Flags nonsense? Your comments would be great!

It's really up to them how they will nudge their head out in investments after this bankruptcy declaration. We all know the wishlists but I've had to trim down expectations. For SFGADV I know the ideas of drop tower and dive machine are out there but I'm more inclined to expect and accept a Water Battle, an Evel Knievel or Terminator clone, or dare I say it: a Tony Hawk spinner. I do miss a park train being at SFGADV so I'm open to Thomas Town. A great gift for NJ's HH would be a Tornado. Maybe the gift will be as small as a new family swing ride for SFGADV.

Whatever happens, I think Magic Mountain should get a makeover of Superman: Escape similar to Bizarro over on the East. It would be called Superman VS Bizarro and each side would be themed to the different hero/villian with a repainting (purple, yellow, blue for Bizarro; red, yellow, blue for Superman), a longer effects tunnel with all kinds of effects like it was supposed to have, a retheming of the queue, and I really nice refurbishment to make this ride as big as the facts say about it's speed and height! But there I go again, throwing out dreams that will probably never happen!

What can you see approaching 100mph? Maybe LED light streams. That's all I would expect if Superman: the Escape went through an overhaul. It sucks a lot of juice as it is.

^ Yes, but when I get to it next week, it will be my tallest and fastest coaster, so it will mean something to me. But then again, it takes it seven seconds to reach full speed compared to the others which take less than three! Kind of sad, but hey, you can't just skip out on a coaster that can be a record of the coasters you have ridden so far. Plus, it's a credit!

Whatever, just say hi to Superman as you approach up the tower.

As much as I'd like to see something big at my home Six Flags, I'd like to see SFA and SFNE get something. Neither park has gotten much recently, and from personal experience I know that SFNE doesn't have much to begin with. Bizarro is about it. Even Scream pretty much sucks now.

SFNE has gotten quite a lot while SFA has been skipped over year after year so if any park deserves a major infusion of new rides for 2011 it's SFA.

Yeah, don't worry Batwing. This Thomas Town I'm really starting to like the idea of what it will bring. It sounds like the combinations of two lands: Wiggles World and Thomas Town in mass combined to one.

on a side note, Superman the escape doesnt go 100 anymore. At WCB they told us that the ride simply isnt reliable at that speed. He said its going around 75-80 most of the time. Still fun but not the 100 once advertised

I just hope that SFOG doesn't get Wiggles World. We already have Thomas Town, and seeing what we gave up for it, I'd hate to see what we would give up for Wiggles World.

On a side note, there was a report on the news here in Atlanta when the bankruptcy was announced, they said that we would be hearing more about 2011 shortly. That hasn't happened yet.
