| Will Cedar Point ever get a real good floorless?
I'm just wondering....Cedar Point has probably every coaster design that any coaster fan could ever dream of..but in reality their is one coaster missing that they desperately need!!!!!!!!!!! In my opinion at the most,I think they could use a good Tall and Fast Floorless B&M Coaster!! Something like Hydra-The Revenge,Bizzaro,Griffon-Dive Floorless..B&M maybe?? |

Who knows? One thing is definitely certain...for such a large park with so many rides, they lack a large sit-down looping roller coaster. Corkscrew and Maverick really don't cut it. A B&M Floorless would certainly fit the bill.

No. My inside sources tell me that Cedar Point is looking to get a real bad Floorless.

Well they aren't getting a coaster this year. They confirmed that on Twitter this morning. Maybe in three more years?

They seem to like Intamin more than B&M, so I'd say it'll be a while for another B&M to find its way into the park.

While I do think they like Intamin better for certain reasons, their next steel coaster will probably be a B&M considering they already have most of the current Intamin models out there.

I guess it would be the "in" thing right now to say Mantis would be on its way out there and there's your space for a floorless.

^Actually they would replace Mantis with another standup coaster. I'd guess in the year 2020 as a 150th anniversary gift of Cedar Point.

yeah I can definitely see a floorless coming pretty soon if they do or do not remove Mantis. Hopefully a new coaseter around 2011-2012? I guarantee CP will get another coaster whenever they get a new ride again.

They won't remove Mantis, in my opinion, it's not as bad as peoplt make it out to be, the first half of the ride is really fun. If they are going to rip out a coaster, do it to Mean Streak. And if they don't want to tear it down at least rip out the giant Q Line that is never used and takes up tons of space. they could easily put up a new coaster in there!

On the topic of Mantis, methinks it would make a pretty sick floorless. ^TNMSBF! It's back, baby!

I don't know if Cedar Point really NEEDS a floorless. If they do get one, it needs to be unique as they take up a pretty decent footprint. If you look at floorless coasters, in general, they take up a lot of acreage, which Cedar Point really doesn't have to mess with. They aren't spread out as much as they are clumped together, if that makes any sense at all. Basically, what I'm saying is you don't see a lot of out and back style floorless coasters. Actually this brings up something for me. Wanna know how Cedar Point has fit so many coasters on that peninsula? They have a ton of coasters that don't take up a ton of extra space. For instance, Magnum is a straight line, for the most part. Raptor retraces itself back to the station for the most part. Wicked Twister is truly a straight line. Corkscrew, TTD, and Gemini all have tight configurations, as does Blue Streak. Heck, even Millie if you look at it doesn't really take up that much "room" as it is narrow in many parts. I truly believe this is part of the genius of Cedar Point. They've found ways to make semi-thrilling and thrilling roller coasters, while not totally gobbling up their acreage. The only true acre hogs are Mean Streak and Disaster Transport. Sorry for the rant. The point is Cedar Point will more than likely make a roller coaster that will fit into tight spaces and will stay along its path, rather than having it take up a huge area.

Oops, forgot about that one. Even still, 3 out of 17 isn't too bad I don't think. The point is, they're very very good at putting in coasters that don't take up too much space and still provide thrills. Its uncanny.
