SLC track sitting at La Ronde

http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/2443/tzrail1.jpg Oui, it's SLC track sitting at La Ronde painted a very Cedar Fair like red track with yellow supports. If Iron Wolf and Chang may be in the same park in the future, maybe this ride and Le Vampire should not be looked as a weird pairing. I would call it Les Frites, some french word for a coaster themed to Mc Donald's French Fries. I called TTD before a Mc Donald's coaster.

The word is the SLC was taken from The Great Escape and painted. I would save The Great Escape from the embarrassment too. It wouldn't be a kind addition to a more family inclined park like The Great Escape. Is this punishment to La Ronde for fixing the Six Flags Tournament of Thrills with Le Monstre winning it all, taking it from even X2, El Toro, and NITRO? Merely a staging area for another area park like a zoo to install it?

What does "a very Cedar Fair like red track and yellow supports" mean?

Although this kind of move makes absolutely no sense, it's not the first time a park has put in more than one of the same type of coaster.

Six Flags Great America at one time had 3 inverted coasters.

Please tell me you're kidding.

Highly doubtful. Why move it from storage (The Great Escape), only back into storage?

This is pretty weird. I hope it gets the new trains at least.

RCDB lists it at La Ronde already, but could it be possible that Six Flags sold it to a park in Canada, and this is the closest place to have it shipped out? Doesn't say much about the new paint though.

EDIT: Great America also had Demon and Shockwave in the same park, I'd say those two are even more similar than having three inverts by three different companies. But to install an SLC AFTER a B&M invert has been there awhile...I mean, I don't need to tell all of you how strange that is.

It's nutty it's there so of course I've been very lightly throwing anything out there in parody. The 2nd invert could be an anchor by the ferris wheel since only Goliath and the indoor Dragon coaster are there. They could use something there.

Strange indeed - Oui. Does the language of the Six Flags deal earlier in the decade to buy La Ronde and invest in it put it in a bind with this bankruptcy that plugging in a SLC is a quick investment (relocation) solution?

Goliath isn't a good enough anchor? The pathways in the back section of the park are all so narrow and convoluted anyway, I don't see why they would need to put it there.

Maybe they'll put it by Supermanege and the Boomerang to achieve a "Crappy Vekoma Clone Hat-Trick" all in one spot.

Although, putting it by Dragon would make the most sense, as it will be a good distance from Vampire.

I suppose I put some distance with my walk from Goliath to the ferris wheel so maybe that's why I thought it could use something else as well. The density of the park is overwhelming on the on the other side. By the ferris wheel it does get very tight so you have a point Jerry. Is that track on a shore of that island lake? Will it be backfilled for the coaster like at Michigan Adventure?

I don't think they would mess with that lake, currently the entire back border which is inaccessible to park guests is a staging area for a fireworks display which is very popular amongst Montreal locals. I don't think they would prioritize a coaster over that.

The lake back border is only wide enough for a service road and monorail I believe.

Now, this is a very strange event. TGE is in desperate need of a thrill coaster after not getting anything of that caliber since 1994. Serial Thriller would have been pretty good for the park, because the nearest SLC is 6 hours away and the nearest invert is 3 or 4 hours away (and in another country that doesn't speak english.) Now, I simply do not get the reason for putting Serial Thriller in the park. TGE needs it more, LR already has a better type of invert. Which, from an enthusiast point of view, this is strange. But from the GP's point of view, it's absolutely pointless. I bet 75%+of the GP will say "Hey, they made a copy of Batman and put it in the other side of the park" (After the ride.) "This was kinda rough." Now, if people go on Serial Thriller first, they might think Batman is the same (if they never went on either before) thus taking attendance away from Batman.

But if the thing was put in TGE, most of the GP (eastern NY) would think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

It simply baffles me, and angers me that a park in my home state is gypped out of a coaster that that it would really benefit from, and that the park that it's going to probably will have close to no benefit.

It's just a waste of money, pure and simple. Just because SFI might get a crap load of their debt off their backs from the Chapter 11 doesn't mean they can go back to making stupid decisions.

I know they passed a SLC as Batman: the Ride at Six Flags Mexico. Did they forget about Le Vampire?

Six Flags New England is only about an hour from TGE, and they have an SLC.

I'm enjoying making out some French on a foreign board. One person threw around the name "The Flash." I could see that working with those colors. Your memory will be erased in a flash. See how that works at SFNE.

OMG. It's got to be they were forced to invest in the park and this is what they had sitting at hand ready to be moved in easily.

That was the easiest to make promo video ever. They have footage of at least 5 of those coasters in their arsenal.

They should at least give it the new train treatment (Notice that the top & bottom wheels are touching the rails).

Are you sure about the wheels? I don't think that can be discerned from that photo and I think in person I have seen the gap just like on an Arrow on most these Vekoma models.

The very right corner of the picture..you can see both top and bottom wheels touching the rail. I'm not sure which coasters other than Gauntlet have the new wheel assemblies.

I thought this ride would go in the back of the park by Goliath but it looks like this would go in the front. That wouldn't be too far from the other two Vekomas, the Boomerang and that primitive double corkscrew model. It looks like a new themed land is coming: Vekoma City, Canada.

At first glance in the animation I thought it was next to the big building across from Goliath's entrance. Someone else convinced me it was near the Main Entrance. I should have stuck to my first impression. Now there is some distance between that and Le Vampire in the park.
