This is an idea I have on what SFAW get. I'd say that next year AstroWorld should get a 4D coaster and a tilt. That's what I think SFAW should get next year because they really need something new.

They need anything new not used. B&M inverted (not a Batman the ride clone),B&M floorless,or a hyper

Since SFAW is basically landlocked these days, in order to get something new, (anything having a mid- to large footprint, anyway) something else will be on its way out. My favorite candidate? XLR8. It's old, it's boring, it takes up huge amounts of real estate. Plus, it doesn't have any Batman affiliations (and we all know those Batman coasters never seem to go away).

So what would be a good fit over in that swampy, marshy area that XLR8 currently occupies? Maybe a hyper-twister ala Titan/Goliath... although that seems unlikely given the necessary budget for something that large. Historically, SFAW's new coasters generally tend to be in the low-to-medium price range.

A few things you can probably rule out: A B&M floorless (there's already one at SFFT) a B&M invert (not after building Serial Killer), B&M standup (they already have BTE) a CCI wood (not after the expensive rehab of Cyclone), a sit-down looper (too many already at SFAW), and a Vekoma Boomerang (the ones at SFFT and SFOT, plus they already have a shuttle looper).

Of course, this is pure conjecture... but I would think that SFAW is overdue for a launched coaster or a hypercoaster. Less likely but possible would be a 4D or a Flying Vekoma.

Here's my short of list for SFAW from most likely to least likely:

1. Shuttle-type LIM-launched coaster (ala Superman the Ultimate Escape)
2. Non-shuttle LIM-launched coaster (ala Poltergeist/OL:FOF)
3. Gio or B&M hyper-twister
4. 4D coaster (this will depend on how SFMM's X does on reliability and popularity)
5. Vekoma Flying coaster

My two cents worth, anyway
*Sara*
|

well, they need a NEW coaster. the best thing for them would probably an X or TA2K. i'm betting out of those two a TA2K is more likely because i THINK there cheaper. unforchantly i have a bad feeling it will be the new home of either dracen fire or viper at SFGAdv

I dont think we will get a Poultergeist cause SFFT already has one.We arent supposed to get any more used coasters either. I really hope we get something new and unusual. I like the X & tilt idea. I think they should put a B&M in the place of the souther star ampetheater.
There is a huge fiels and they dont even have that many concerts there. |

This thread is discussing SFAW, so it belongs in the American Parks forum.

-Tom
