Six Flags Elitch Gardens

I don't mean to offend anyone out there but I was just wondering if there was any kind of reson why premier parks will not spend a lot of money in this six flags park. it only has 4 real coasters and 1 kiddie coaster and I feel bad for the people who hope every year to get a new coaster and they never do. Does anyone know a reason why SFEG nevr seems to get new explosive rides?

Well, the park doesn't have that much land. I guess that's probably one reason. It's right in the middle of Denver.

Well, no one ever goes there because there's nothing to go there for. There aren't a whole lot of people who want to pay 25 bucks to wait 2 hours in line for a vekoma slc.

Geez, you guys have no concept of business. The primary purpose of the amusement industry is to make money. That being said, look at Denver. What competition does Elitch Gardens have? Only Lakeside. From an enthusiast's perspective, Lakeside is better because it has a good coaster and is a cool traditional park. From what I hear, the GP in Denver don't like Lakeside saying it's old where SFEG is new. Elitch's gets lots of business. The GP loves it. Why expand? First of all, they're out of space, but putting that aside, when they still get people through the gates, why bend over backwards to build a new ride? It's all about the money. Six Flags would rather put new rides in at parks that are in competition with other parks, or that need new rides to keep attendance figures up.

I agree totally with you Erik. Six Flags couldn't care less about treating all it's parks fairly. It cares about one thing, money. And since there is no competition near Elitch Gardens for it to worry about, there is simply no need for lots of new coasters. Unlike SFWOA and SFMM, which get most of the new coasters because they are in tougher, more competitive markets.

I think they should at LEAST get a new sit down, floorless, invert, flyer, just SOMETHING to make SFEG known. Just one coaster, pretty sad story there. I don't think theres any other parks close by it. I'd be mad if I lived there

I think that they will probably get a small sitdown looper, because that is really all they need. I mean the public would think that it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Something like wildfire.

i went there last summer in july and the park was packed, i did not get on any coaster, as there were lines of more than 2 hours, so i just walked around and went on some slides at the water park. this park is definately not a gem , but i am sure it makes some money. This park works in Denver, but would be out of business n L.A. within a week;)

It's sad that in the amusement industry, it has to be this way. It's almost unfair for people who are fans of coasters. You could live in Ohio,Texas,Florida,California or Pennsyvannia and becuase there are multiple parks in these states, they get the newest and best rides. For example, in Ohio, you could be withing 50 miles of both CP and SFWOA. Think about all the coasters that you are near by. You have a giga,hyper,floorless,4 woodies and one of them Villain is actaully liked by most (lol),flying, so on and so on and of course PKI is only about a 4 or 5 hour drive or so. But for the people of Denver, all they have is SFEG, that's sad how some people could be within a few hours of up to 30 or more coasters and many of them high quality while some have only 4 or 5 and not one standout among them.

I heard they where thinking about selling SFEG to Cedar Fair. Or another possibility is that they could end up working up a savings and building in tons of new rides, to become SF's new super park.

Yeah, but they don't have the land for it. They can't buy more land either. SFEG is in downtown Denver.

2 reasons why they don't spend money on it is that there is no real competition and they don't have the space
