You can try www.amusementpark.com (they have discount tickets for select parks across the country) or try buschgardens.com -- if you buy tickets online, you get 10% off, so that would save $20 for your family. Or you can combine and get some of the different sorts of passes they offer, all the information there is on the official site. Good luck! If I figure any more out I'll let you know!

I suggest calling AAA, I don't know if any of us would readily know that...

The discounts won't help much if your parents have a bad attitude. Sure, you can get a slight discount with an AAA card, but for 4 people, the cost will still be about $160. There is no way you can get like half off, and I wouldn't even think of going thru a time share tour because they waste your entire day and then try to force you to buy.

So, if you're going to Tampa, and your parents don't want to visit the park because of money, then why don't you ask if they can drop you off for the day. I don't know how old you are, but if you're a teenager, then why not? Going thru the park alone is great. You can do what ever you want. Then you call them in the afternoon so they can pick you up.

When my family went down to Florida last summer, we bought this multi-ticket thingy that was exactly the cost of one-day admission to IOA, BGT, SWF, and USF. But it was good for THIRTEEN DAYS. So we were able to visit all the parks several times, for the same price of one-day tickets.

I should mention, that we had to listen to some stupid time share presentation to get it for that much. Man, do those morons EVER accept NO for an answer?

*Edit-The ticket is called a flex ticket. It's not to hard to find. You should be able to get one from any place that sells park tickets.*

July 10 - 20 is the middle of the summer. Lines can get long in the afternoon after everyone arrives. Gwazi is the longest wait, about an hour. Montu is about 30 minutes, Kumba is usually a walkon. The water rides can have an hour wait in the afternoon, do them in the morning after the coasters. If you're down here that long, then go during the week when the parents are working.
And arrive at the park before they open so you can be first thru the gate. The parking lot opens at 08:30am, park opens at 9am. You would hit Gwazi first, Montu, RR (use single rider), then Kumba (which is usually a walkon). Then you do the water rides, eat lunch, and see the zoo walkthru.
You've got about 4 months to save up your money. That would convince your parents to take you if you at least paid for yourself and had food money. If you saved $20 a month, in 4 months you'd have $80 (ticket, plus food, plus shirt). Tell your little bro to save his allowance. If you both pay your ticket, your parents will be ok with paying about $100 for a day out. I see you got them to say yes, but helping out with the ticket will mean alot to them.

Kumba, a walk-on? Your kidding!?!? Kumba will NOT be a walk -on. In fact, it will have a rather long line. But I say go to Gwazi first as well. With Gwazi's horrible loading time(about five whole minutes per train) it can really take a while to get on the ride. I would even suggest skipping Gwazi until the end of the day. It is a horrible ride.

GO TO KUMBA FIRST!!!! It is a great ride, the best in the park! Then head to Montu, which is also great. After that, it's up to you. I would strongly reccomend the jeep tour through the zoo area. It is well worth the money.

Don't forget Scorpion and Python, they are small but still good rides.

Ok, don't listen to Coaster Boy, listen to rovia. Ride Gwazi first! Also, Kumba may not have a walk-on per-say, but it is very short and always low.

Ok guys, remember that Gwazi will not have as long of a wait, because it isnt synchronized. The loading and seat belt checking will not take as long! := ;party;  :*)

Just look around for the best coupon or discounts you can get. You won't save a whole lot of money but a little.

Every dollar helps!

When we went to Busch Gardens just this past Wednesday (3/20), we saved money in a couple of ways. First, you can buy discount tickets at any number of places, which can save you $6 / ticket (the hotel did have some, but were sold out when we asked). Or you can buy them online at the Busch Gardens website for $5 off each. Second, we stayed at the Days Inn down the street -- a nice hotel, actually, with rates Sunday - Thursday for only $35/night, and $50/night on the weekends. You can get an additional coupon for $5 off your first night's stay here:

http://www.daysinntravelplanner.com/promotions/FloridaCoupon5off.gif

That coupon is good for a lot of different Days Inn hotels throughout FL. Plus if you stay at that Day Inn (right next to Busch Gardens), you're only a 15-20 minute walk from the gate, so you don't pay the $7 parking. :) Really, it's a nice walk, with some great views of Gwazi and Montu.

Using just these discounts, my husband and I saved $23, which of course would be more the more people you have in your party. While your parents might not be too thrilled at just a couple dollars off here and there, if you present it to them with all the different savings they can get and how they all add up, they should be more willing! Good luck!

accually, if you want to lower the cost of the trip, try lowering the cost of other things. find a cheaper hotel. drive, don't fly. eliminate souvineres and snacks. thats what we do on our vacations, and it works out fine.:D :flip:
