SF:OG Questions

I am going to SFOG the second weekend in operation...and I have some quick questions since I have never been there before:

1. The Georgia Scorcher is standup right? and is it any good?
2. Is S:UF going to be a B&M or Vekoma? and when is it opening?
3. Does the park get over crowed? and/or ride lines too?
4. What rides should I ovoid?
5. What rides should i not miss?
6. Is it worth-while going if I will never go again?

Thanks for providing me with this info! I usally don't pay attention to any other SF park becides GA or MM.
Thanks again!
:)

I'll save you from any sarcasm in this post.

1. Yes, GS is a standup. People have said that it's pretty good and has a lot more twists, turns, and suprises than it does inversions.

2. S:UF is B&M and should be opening with the park I guess.

3. The park has usual crowds. If you don't want to be swamped, don't go on summer weekends, etc.

4. From what I hear avoid Ninja. Just a big head banger.

5. Deja Vu, S:UF, Mindbender, Georgia Scorcher, Georgia Cyclone, Acrophobia, etc.

6. you have to decide for yourself.

Actually I think S:UF is not opening with the park. It is probably gonna open on easter or the week after it.

1. Yes, it is a stand-up. I personally think that it is a great ride. Lots of fun!!!

2. S: UF is a B&M. It won't open with the park. I think that it'll be open on the second week the parks open, which is when you are going.

3. Park doesn't get too crowded, unless it is a Saturday during the summer. Lines for Batman and Deja Vu get very long, but you can get a LoQ.

4. AVOID NINJA. Lots of headbanging. Or ride it once for your track record. But your not missing out on anything if you don't ride it.

5. Deja Vu, Georgia Scorcher, Acrophobia, Mind Bender, S: UF if it is in fact open on that day. I would get there half and hour early and run to S: UF.

6. YES, any trip to this park is worth-while. It is one amazing park. I gerantee you'll have fun, even if S: UF isn't open.

I might go the same day. PM me if you want to meet up. I am going to get there at least an hour early and try to get the first ride on S: UF.

1. Yes, the Scorcher is a B&M stand-up, and it's a great coaster. It's a little short, but there are a lot of great moments in the ride. There's a point where at the top of a hill, the track is tilted at a full 90 degrees.

2. S:UF is B&M and it will be opening some time in April (hopefully)

3. Yes, the park gets crowded easily and the ride lines get long too. Waiting an hour for BMTR is common.

4. Ninja is the only ride to avoid, but you should still go on it once. I've had good, smooth rides, and they've been great. Then again, I've had horrible rides which were very rough and unpleasant.

5. Georgia Cyclone, Acrophobia, Scream Machine, Deja Vu, Mindbender. Then, hit everything that's not the Ninja

6. Definately. We've got some one-of-a-kind rides that you won't find anywhere else. The staff and visitors are horrible, like at any other SF park. But, the rides are a lot of fun.

Great!

These are some good things to consider...I'll be sure to ride the one-of-a-kind rides like Deja Vu, Georgia Scorcher, Acrophobia, Mind Bender and S:UF if it's open.

Please try to ride Ninja at least once. I hardly ever get any headbanging on it (one time it was B&M smooth at begininning of 2001), and I probably rode it 10 times this year. You never know, you may like it, but if you don't you don't have to ride it again.

As an employee of SFOG, I resent that statement. :)

I think that the staff will be better this year, though I can't say the same for the guests.

1. The Scorcher is the best stand-up I have ridden, doesn't rely on loops but on quick directional changes, lots of fun

2. B&M, and I've heard April 12th as the opening day

3. The park eats up crowds pretty good, but I'd avoid Saturdays

4. Ninja and Mindbender if the line is extremely long

5. BTR, Scorcher, DMine Train, GCyclone, GASM, and Mindbender oh and SUF

6. Of course, any park is worth going to at least once.

Just go to the park. All of your questions will be answered there. It's a one of a kind park, very little cloning of rides(I can only think of 3 clones, Cyclone and BTR and DV) Everything else is pure gold. Whatever you do, ride Acro, Mindbender, GASM, and Scorcher. Those are the must rides at that park. I haven't heard of a park like it at all. It's one of a kind.

CoasterFreakMan: Of course, that wasn't directed at you, or any other SFOG employee I've seen on a UBB. You're obviously intelligent enough to use coasterforum.com, which is a lot more than I can say about most of your co-workers.

The park's Déjà Vu and Acrophobia are not one-of-a-kind so to speak as there are exact/incredibly similar rides out there just like them.

Déjà Vu - Déjà Vu(2x) & Twister

Acrophobia - Apocalyse & "Un-named" @ WBMW Germany

Um acrophobia is one of a kind because apocalypse isnt a gyro drop. Also, the one in germany isnt opened yet, so it still is original.
