As a former management employee for four years, I lived at BGW for four years. I honestly feel the Italian food in San Marco is very good, especially the cannanoli (sp?) and the cappucino cheescake. The pizza is ok, but not nearly as good as what you would finds at Knoebel's.
If you really have a sweet tooth, there is a small pastry shop in France right around the corner from the antique cars. It is a little hard to find, but they usually sell all the desserts you could find at the park including the carrot cake (my favorite!)
If you like ice cream, (WHO DOESN'T!!) get the Black Forest sundae right up the hill from Land of the Dragons. It is a homemade waffle cone with soft serve ice cream, hot fudge, and hot cherry topping. YUM!!!!!! Big enough to share.
There is excessive distance between the coasters, and lots of hills to traverse. So whatever you do, where comfortable shoes.
I hope you enjoy BGW as much as I do. It truly is the most beautiful park I have ever seen.
Yes...best way to navigate the park is to walk the BIG circle. If you want to get from Lock Ness Montser to Land of the Dragons, there is a VERY steep hill to climb. You take a long set of stairs down to the Rhine River, walk along the water, then climb a steep incline to Land of the Dragons. If you don't liuke walking, avoid doing that route.
All in all, have a great time!

I just got back from BGW and i had the best time. Ride everything in the morning(opening time is 10:00). Head for Apollo first, of course. Try Alpie around noon while people are eating lunch. I went on a day when it was raining and hardly no one was in line for Alpengeist or Apollo's Chariot and I rode AC 10 times. If you like burgers and stuff, go to the Squire's Gallery in Banbury Cross and try their big burgers. Hope you have a good time and be sure to ride Corkscrew Hill in Ireland!

I've moved this into American Parks. Trip Report forum is for Trip Reports only, not general queries.
