It was Time Warner. And this is in the wrong forum.

Cedar Fair had nothing to do with the sale of the Six Flags Europe properties. Six Flags sold them because they were looking to make some fast cash to help them with their debt. :)

Moved to Parks, and the Time Warner rumor hasn't been confirmed, nor denied at this point.

Thanks. I was wondering what the new name of the parks were. I think if name & themeing changes haven't already begun then after this season changes will be made. I'm sure all the SF logos have been taken down though.

Nope the parks still call sixflags and the logos are still there. This is because there was to less time to change that much in all of those parks and the commercials campaign had allready begun. |

SixFlags Belgium will become Walibi Wavre again, because the Belgians still think it is Walibi and every Belgian still calling the park Walibi... And then the're asking why the whole world think's their stupid... :D ;) The Walibi parks will hold their names, only the names of SixFlags Holland and Warner Bros. Movie World Germany are still unknown. Some thing that's already for sure is that the Looney Tunes Characters will be gone in 'SixFlags Holland' 2005 The European Group is called "Star Parks Luxembourg HoldCo"

Movie World Germany are still unknown. Some thing that's already for sure is that the Looney Tunes Characters will be gone in 'SixFlags Holland' 2005 The European Group is called "Star Parks Luxembourg HoldCo"
Excuse me? Stupid? ;) It is true that Six Flags Belgium will be named Walibi again in 2005. That's what the SFB General Manager, Viviane Paturel, confirmed. But it won't be named 'Walibi Wavre'. The Wavre was added in 1982, when Walibi was purchasing other parks outside Belgium. At this moment, the SFB management is still brainstorming about another word to place behind the Walibi. Viviane Paturel said that Walibi Thrills, Walibi Sparks & Walibi & Friends, Walibi Wild Adventures, Walibi Belgium, ...are some of the possible names. Since december 2003, the Walibi kangooroo, came back to Aqualibi, the SFB waterpark, due to major popularity. Because of the Looney Tunes will be gone, he'll be walking around again in the park next years. Although the big changing will be in 2005, nothing will change for the 2004 season, although Palamon already did some very small changes inside the park. Some rides got new logo's (Turbine and Cilindri Rotanti) and the American and Spanish flag at the enterance are gone and replaced by the European flag and the British Union Jack. Palamon also said they want to make all the 7 Six Flags parks familyparks. Are there plans for the 2005 season? Not yet. Although Palamon asked the 7 parks how they would like to see their own park in the future. They all can decide, seperately, what they want to do with their park. Although none of the parks have responded yet. I do know that Six Flags Belgium/Walibi??? will celebrate it's 30th birthday in 2005. Viviane Paturel said she wants to celebrate that birthday with lot's of festivities and, if possible, a major new ride. So that's all I know! |

Good riddence to Sux Flags Europe! Now if we could just get them to go away in the US. They are to amusement parks what McDonalds is to food, Wal*Mart is to handmade products and fair wages, and the Chevy Vega is to classic cars. Sicks Flags has tried to make a great company and in the process has ruined many more inovative parks and destroyed the good old fashioned ones where a Coke was still only a buck not THREE $#$%%$# DOLLARS. In the end, which is hopefully coming soon with their debt load, they will have accomplished neither. Hopefully the pieces will be picked up by local entrepenures who have the independent vision to make each of thier parks great unique opportunities to compete with one another and all of us will have something to tavel to each others' cities to experience. Thank the gods of finance the age of the clones may be drawing to a close |
