What would make Cedar Point the perfect coaster park?

Cedar Point as we all know is the best park on earth (voted 8 straight years). It has plenty of incredible rides especially 16 roller coasters. It has 2 wooden coasters, a corksrew, a bobsled, a suspended, 2 kiddies, 1 mine ride, a hyper, a stand up, 2 inverted, a giga coaster and a launching coaster. I think the only thing missing is perhaps a flying coaster. Do you think Cedar Point should add a flying coaster? Discuss!

I think the only thing missing about Cedar Point is threads. We don't have enough threads about them asking the same thing...so I'm going to open a new thread if you'll excuse me.

I was going to but I noticed this
http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/showthread.php?t=36113&page=1

...and this
http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/showthread.php?t=35965

...and also this one
http://www.thrillnetwork.com/boards/showthread.php?t=34884

Just so you know in case you're offended, I'm joking with ya. But please do a search next time.

Some subjects just get beaten to a pulp. I am highly satisfied with Cedar Point's selection as is. So what if they do not have a floorless or flying coaster.

^ I don't think they'd ever put a floorless in...I mean, for one, Geauga Lake has one and it's the longest one right now and I don't think Cedar Point would want to take the record from a park in the same company. I think a flying coaster or dive machine is will be next, or something that we haven't seen yet, like a tilt coaster maybe?

One type of coaster that I think would fit in perfect would be a B&M dive machine. I just think it fit's in with CP's "premier selection" of coasters. But didn't AB make a deal with B&M not to build any dive machines in the U.S. for 2 years or something?

Another thing that would make CP the perfect coaster park...if it had no lines...and was accross the street from my house. ;)

Cedar Point has some great quality coaster which some parks do not have. The only thing the park is missing is a few B&M's.

Flyer, Floorless & Dive Machine.
Cedar Point as we all know is the best park on earth...!
Well, as we all know Universal Orlando, Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Dollywood are all better than Cedar Point ;)

Here's a tip: thats an opinion, not a fact (especially if you are using the GTA's as your "source" )

I don't know if i would say CP is the best park on Earth.

I would put Disney & Universal ahead of CP anyday.

Cedar Point is the best park on earth for a coaster enthusiast, not necessarily a family. Places like Disney, Busch Gardens, Sea World, and Universal Orlando is what draws families.

I think CP should build a great Airtime woodie. Mean Streak isn't cutting it, even though Blue Streak still offers some decent air...

^ That's YOUR opinion, you might find other parks that have coasters that CP doesn't have better and that's what you think. A lot of people like Cedar Point, and not just because it has a lot of coasters. It does have a lot to offer to the enthusiast world, but has some stuff for the family as well, even if it's not as much as parks like Disney. CP is one of the best parks in the world, if some people want to put Disney parks ahead of them, go ahead, but Disney parks are for families and people who like theming, I don't think thats the complete package a park should have. I think people just give them a bad rep because they think they only care about coasters and records, but it seems like they are drifting from that self picture and are starting to work on their flat department instead of adding coasters every year like some parks...*cough*SFMM*cough* I think once Dick Kinzel moves on, Cedar Point will eventually turn into a family park as well, even then when they have 17 roller coasters. Once he retires we'll see less coasters and more flats and family coasters which is good, hopefully that will help them remain one of the world's most elite amusement parks.

Bob, just because you think other parks have better coaster collections, doesn't mean you can just shoot down someone else's opinion. If someone else thinks CP has the best coaster collection, that's their opinion. Stop making it seem like your opinion is superior. I admit, CP doesn't have every coaster out there, but the coasters they do have, are some of the best coasters of their coaster type. Hopefully we'll see some other coaster type get used to it's fullest, and hopefully it will be either a flyer or dive machine.

Yea, I know, that was my point ;)
but it seems like they are drifting from that self picture and are starting to work on their flat department instead of adding coasters every year like some parks...*cough*SFMM*cough*
Wow, they add one flat and all of the sudden its a "drift"? They need to replace dozens of flats in that park, their collection is aging. To me, they have "drifted" more towards developing their resort better with the water park, which is a good thing.
... and you don't want to know my opinion on MM. I'll just give a brief annotation: I've used the term "barrio" to describe it ;)
I admit, CP doesn't have every coaster out there
LOL Well duh!
(sorry that was funny and I dont care who you are)
but the coasters they do have, are some of the best coasters of their coaster type.
Again thats your opinion, and I reserve the right to think that Millennium, Dragster, Magnum, Raptor, Wicked Twister and even Mantis to an extent are overrated. I dont think my opinion is superior, I'm just reminding folks that there are differing opinions ;) I know my opinions aren't always with the general consensus and are often time not what people want to hear.

I doubt they'll be getting one anytime in the near future but I really would like to see a new woodie. With all these new woodies coming out that are great like The Voyage, Hades, Thunderhead, etc, it makes me want to see a great new one there. They have so many great steel coasters, it would be nice to see a wooden one that can stand up to them.

One new flat is better than no new flats like at SFMM...I really could care less how many new flats CP adds, most of the ones they have now are up and running unlike over at Magic Mountain. This season upcoming season, we should see a new flat or two before the next big coaster so yeah I do think they are attempting to build their flat collection. Once Kinzel retires, I don't see the park getting that many more coasters and then we'll see a lot more flats put in as well as family rides.

Mantis is overrated... moreover it is a hunk of junk. I would rather ride Disaster transport than that painful POS.

Flyer with TWO pretzel loops.

C'mon B&M, stop going the family route. Your rides are sucking lately.

Seriously? There aren't very many parks out there that have the variety, or amount of coasters that CP does. But...thats my opinion.

CP has enough coasters where I can go to the park and spend the day there and enjoy a variety of different ones. I understand that they don't have that many coasters with inversions, but the ones they do have a pretty decent. And MF and TTD just make the park just as fun. I really think the only thing the park is majorly lacking is wooden coasters, Mean Streak is an average coaster, but they need something with more airtime.

But in Cedar Point's case...more coasters is better. Cornball may be fun, but I'd rather go on MF, TTD, Raptor, or Magnum once then 50 times on cornball.

You're kidding, right? Magnum and Blue Streak were practically MADE for airtime, and MF, TTD, MEan Streak, Corkscrew, and even Mantis serve up their share.

^Airtime on Mean Streak, have you been on it in the past five years? LOL Airtime on a Stand-up, that's a new one!

Quality, my friend, is my way of life. I could care less how many coasters I've been on, rather, I just love a great ride. That's probably why I like little parks with one or two great woodies than a park like Cedar Point with 14 steel coasters and non of which come close to my top 10 (not to mention that one big woodie that is one of the worst Ive been on and the other woodie that is weak in airtime even by John Allen standards)

Exactly, YOUR top 10! Dude, get this in your head...your opinions aren't everyones opinions. Some people, like me, do think that MF and TTD deserve to be in their top ten. Just because you don't think they are good coasters doesn't mean other people don't, so stop putting peoples opinions and only thinking that yours is superior.

I do admit that only a few of CPs coasters should qualify to be quality coasters, quite frankly I think the park could do without a few such as Magnum and Gemini. MF and Raptor are by far the parks two best coasters and TTD trails them a bit only because it's only about speed and height. Yet, everytime I do go to CP I have a good time, and I'd probably still have a good time if they had 30 coasters, it's a great park and it's not only the coasters that make it good. Think about that.

... and I guess you don't see my purpose for posting in this thread.

"your opinions aren't everyones opinions"

.. and just because my opinions are in the minority doesn't mean that they shouldn't be considered.

Stop trying to portray me as some bad guy or stubborn or something, I am just adding an outside, differing opinion to remind people that not everone thinks of the park as heaven on earth or the best place for enthusiasts. You are quick to point out that my opinion isnt the same as everyone else's yet don't realize that what you are pointing out is the intention of my posts. Wouldn't message boards be boring if everyone agreed?

I'm guessing you've never been on Skyrider at PCW. It's a stand-up and has great airtime over the hill after the loop.

Yes, I have ridden it and it is a painful piece of crap, but at least its not as terrible as Shockwave @ Kings Domion. Nonetheless some of my least favorite stand-ups ever and my 6'3" frame didn't experience airtime, rather, just pain.

Oh yea, I guess I should remind y'all that my statement above is my opinion and not neccessarily the opinion of others ;)
