It's got a very good collection of coasters. Their wood isn't that great- Psyclone is a pile of junk, and Colossus is a shadow of it's former greatness. But most of the steel is very good. It's sorely lacking in flat rides, especially newer ones.
It's biggest problem has been the amount of things they've let slide and deteriorate over the last several years- upkeep on some rides, paint, cleanliness, landscaping, etc. It's not as nice as it used to be. However, if you've never been there, it's certainly worth a visit.
I enjoyed having it as my home park for 6+ years. There's certainly a lot worse that you can have for that.

| | | I agree, If you have a chance to go any park is worth going to.
I have not visited SFMM since 2000 so i hear alot has changed. I think Sir Willow just summed up my opinion.
It seems SF is trying to make a comeback and i look foward to my visit next spring/summer.

| | | My last visit to the park was in 2002, a month after X's general opening; that coaster is definitely a must ride. The park didn't seem dirty to me, but maybe things went wrong in the past few years?
I really enjoyed my visit back then, and I really hope to go to the park again next year to ride Tatsu.

| | | SFMM is by far the best park I been to. Even Cedar Point couldn't beat this Six Flags park in my books.
My favorite SFMM Rides: Viper, X, Scream, Goliath, X, Riddler, Superman The Escape, Goldrusher, Ninja, and Batman.
Best part of this park, OPEN YEAR ROUND, unlike Cedar Point.

| | | I really enjoy SFMM. When I went there in 2001, it seemed like it was the cleanest and most efficient Six Flags park out of the few I've been to (SFMM, SFGAdv, SFA, SFGA). I agree with Dragon Mountain that the fact that Magic Mountain is open year round really helps it.
Favorite rides: Goliath, S:TE, and Viper

| | | Magic Mountain is really up there as one of my favorite parks, alongside Cedar Point. It gets a really bad rep from enthusiasts that tend to develop a negative mindset from stereotypes and they tend to "learn" to not have fun at the park, rather, pick out all the things that are wrong with it. I've seen much worse. It's a large park and there is a lot of walking to get around to all the attractions! - especially in areas of the park where it gets really hilly. Sandals are okay, but closed-toed shoes are your best bet for all day comfort :) |

| | | X is my favorite ride at SFMM
I also agree with Chris that SFMM is not as bad as enthusiasses make it out to be. The park is in a great setting like a mirage and the skyline is second to none IMO Now if only they could revive their wooden collection, fix Rev (Flashback a lost cause) add some up to date Flats this park would be untouchable IMO
I also agree with Chris were shoes not sandals, SFMM is huge and hilly and by the end of the day your feet are killing you, in sandals there bleeding lol. Trust me my berkinstocks where not nice to me, my feet felt like I had ran the LA marathon lol never again will I wear Sandals to SFMM or anyplace where tons of walking and standing is involved. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
