SFGAdv, PKD, HP, or DP?

My dad has said that because I had to miss a Cedar Point trip this year, he is willing to take me on an impromtu coaster trip this weekend. He gave me the option of SFGAdv, PKD, Hersheypark, and Dorney Park. I have little time to choose and I don't want to make the wrong decision.

I've been to Hersheypark, but never been on Storm Runner and I've been on TTD, which I'm sure is pretty close to KK at SFGAdv.

I would like to just say SFGAdv, but I heard the park itself is pretty bad.

CP was also an option, but I ruled it out because TTD and maXair are down.

Please provide your insights, as they will be greatly appreciated.

Go for the jugular - You're going to Six Flags Great Adventure this weekend! (Cue music, Mr. Six)

Park will be crowded for Frightfest! Beware.

I have only been to PKD but I have a very high opinion of the park. Hypersonic is an awesome rush with amazing airtime, while Volcano is my number 1 coaster. FOF is also very good, especially going through inversions with only lapbars. The only terrible coaster is Shockwave, which is the worst coaster I have ever been on. Otherwise, the park was very clean when I went and the staff was excellent, except for the slow loading on Grizzly. Overall PKD is a great park and is worth going to, but I am not sure how it compares to those other parks.

PKD I like a lot but have not been in a few years

Hershey is cool but if you have been wouldnt you want to go somewhere new?

If you're going purely for thrills (which is how I work lol) go to either GAdv or PKD. I'm planning on going to SFGAdv tomorrow, I hope lines aren't too bad, and if they are, I hope they're just all around superman or KK so the other rides will be walk-ons.

I don't want to get this off topic, but does anyone know where I could get a discount for GAdv?

I was just on their website and they have $10 off if you buy tickets online. I don't know if you were looking for a larger discount, but that's what I found.

Well it really depends what you're looking for, extreme thrills at GADV, the nice wood at PKD, all around everthing hershey and 2 incredible B&M's with a morgan at dorney.

Well, Hershey, you already know what you get - though considering I've been to them all, Hershey would be my choice for Storm Runner, I haven't been on it.

SFGAdv would be my #1 choice, you have a full 13 hours possible to ride coasters. All of the coasters are reridable, Nitro is reason enough to do the trip, their B:TR is the best one I've been on, Medusa is great, the mine ride is a sleeper hit, and Chiller's cobra roll is unmatched. And Dragster is there, too. GAdv is my favorite out of the SF's I've visited (SFWOA, SFDL, SFOG, SFKK, SFStL being the others). It is huge to say the least.

PKD would be #2. Grizzly was a much better wood coaster that I anticipated, very good air on a few hills, laterals from hell on the fan curve, and its a great night ride. Volcano is pretty sweet, there is certainly nothing else like it, and the feeling of being shot vertically into an inversion is something I'd like to do again. Rebel Yell was better than decent, Anaconda can black you out and its not too rough. Hypersonic, strongest launch anywhere, period, but I stil liked TTD's better. Ride is a bit painful. Hurler is decent, Flight of fear is alright too, but PKI's is better.

#3 Dorney: If you love B&Ms this is the place to be lately. Talon is one of the best if not the best inverted coaster in the U.S. Hydra looks very interesting, if it wasn't for the long drive, lack of time, and the cost, I would do it. Steel Force is pretty good, not in the morning though. Thunderhawk is actually quite good, not rough, trimmed a little but hey, that's cedar fair for ya! Laser is awesome, very intense, golden Schwarzkopf. Their mouse hurts, a lot,. Honestly, though, save this trip for later. Talon and Hydra will stay great, and since Knoebles is only an hour away (though it's not open now) it is a must for a combo trip, both parks can easily and comfortably be done in one day. Use Knoebels sundown ticket for after 5 pm and you can get a ton of rides in before 11 pm.

during frightfest:
without breakdowns: 1-2 hours
with breakdowns: 2-???
(the line moves incredibly fast when the ops are pumping out train after train but when the ride stops, the line stops)

i've never been to pkd and never been on storm runner and hydra. if you're looking for world class coasters but long lines, obviously chose sfgadv. dorney has barely any lines at all but dont come close to sfgadv's coaster lineup. i think hersheypark is overrated. lightning racer is amazing and i dont know how storm runner is but the rest of the coasters i think are mediocre.
