with all new rides being built for 2006 which theme park do you think will be the best by the end of the year?

I think SFMM, since it will have a new flying coaster.

For "best regional theme park by the end of 2006," I think it's a toss up between Six Flags Great Adventure, Cedar Point and Six Flags Magic Mountain.

I am not a huge theme park person.

So I think the smaller parks will fair better next year then the bigger.

Kennywood, Holiday World, Beech Bend, Knoebel's I am thinking along those lines.

Katie, smaller parks RULE!

WildeFyre, what are you saying. Disney will never be the best. Their rides had so many accidents that it's turning away people. Universal Studios is ok, but it doesn't have as many coasters as Six Flags.

For thrills it will be between SFGADv, CP, SFMM, HW, and a few others.

For overall park it will be between CP, IOA, BGW.

Hersheypark could be a contender in this for 2006.

I dont know what thrills you got at HW... But the only "thrill" rides at the park would be the 2 CCIs and the weakest S&S tower in the world.

And soon to be TV.. still thats 4 at the most. SFKK has more thrills then that....

You don't think Voyage will knock your socks off? Have you ridden their woodies during ERT? They run like no others. Better then CP, or SFGADV or any other huge evil park in the country.

Well, the question was what will be the best THEME park at the end of 2006, and the parks everyone seems to be naming are amusement parks. And I'm not sure why you're saying Disney will never be the best since they still have the highest attendance rates. And, if you ask me, that's not driving people away. You may hate Disney and Universal, and good for you, that's what you think, but in my eyes no park will ever beat Disney or Universal for a THEME park.

Probably the same one that is the best at the begining of the year. Or the one that is the best now. However, trying to get anyone to agree on what the "best" is is a bit silly. It's never going to happen.

Heck, as you can tell, some can't even tell the difference between a theme park and an amusement park. Or a park and a chain. :P

Regardless of if they get a new ride or not, or if they get a 500ft coaster next or a great new flyer, for me it will always be Cedar Point. I love that park and it will remain the best all around park.

However, through those competing this year in the next big ride I must say that Hershey, SFMM and SFGdv are going to be the main contenders this coming year.

It's quality, not quanity. Universial's IOA is the best park I've been to and it only has 3 big coasters. And people aren't going away from Disney. They have about the same crowds that they normally have for this time of year.

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. I love the park to death. When I go there, I feel like I am at home for some reason...

So thats my pick reguardless of whether or not they get anything new for 2006...

I agree. Disney & Universal will still be tops next year and every year after. SFMM, CP & SFGadv not far behind though.

That's cute. I'll give you that. 3 woodies that "run like no others...better than CP, or SFGADV or any other huge evil park in the country." That still doesn't hold a candle to Great Adventure and Cedar Point steel. And how is it that an amusement park can be "evil"? I'd like to know.

^ HW's woodies don't hold a candle to CP's and SFGrAv's steel? Whahahaahaahahahaaaaaa You're kidding, right? Sorry, but their wood, especially during ERT, is better than anything over at CP- day, night, ERT, wood, steel, or otherwise.

And while I haven't experienced it yet myself, the only thing that looks like it could put up a fight at Great Adventure would be S:ROS. The rest of them don't have much of a chance.

CP,MM,GRADV

Cedar point for being clean, beutiful and great rides
Magic Mountain for always affording high electricity bills an keeping rides closed so you keep commin' back to get on em' all
and Gradv for many great rides KK Nitro medusa Gasm SM BM Ciller and many other very amusing rides

But my vote goes to geat Advenventure for such a great feat on modern coasters and you never get board ( except for gridlocks)

SFGadv does not have a Superman: Ride Of Steel.

Yeah, have you ever been to SFGadv? Im not going to say anything about it because i have not been there... but according to your track record, you haven't either. Do you guys notice he talks about other people saying crap about parks they havent been to... when he is one of them?

...Back on topic, I am really excited about Tatsu, but I am not sure what the BEST park will be.

Yah sure, the only great ride there is Kingda Ka. Have you ever heard of Nitro or Batman and Robin, which are not clones. And who cares if they have rides that are clones at other parks. Yah, they are clones, but that doesn't mean the ride sucks. And if you are so against clones, why don't you hate Kingda Ka. It is kind of a clone of Top Thrill Dragster, just a little taller and with a bunny hill.

For top theme park in the world, in the truest sense of the question, it would be one of the WDW parks. I'd rank them individually 1-4 in whatever order. All of them are just amazing properties run in an impecable manner and are matained in nearly the best way possible. They have had a bad year, but the only one I could place blame on them for is California Screamin.
do you guys notice that he says crap about parks he probably has never even been too.and says such great things about his.

Have you been to Great Adventure? With comments like that, the answer is either no, or you're ignorant of the ride collection. Nitro, not a clone. Medusa, not a clone. Often imitated, never duplicated. Skull Mountain, not a clone. Runaway Mine Train, not a clone. Rolling Thunder, not a clone AFAIK. I know Judge Roy Scream is "closely related", but I don't think it's a clone. The Chiller, not a clone. BTR, clone, but it was number 2. You gotta give them something for that!:D As for Magic Mountain, if it is so great, why does Great Adventure consistently pull in more people in it's operating season than Magic Mountain does in year-round operation? Something seems wrong there.

For regional park, theme or amusement, I think the king will be a toss-up between CP and Gadv. There are some great small parks, but I personally like the hustle and bustle of a large park. I like feeling like there is almost too much to experience in a day. I love the feeling of always having something new to do that day. When I ride everything and it's reride time, it makes me a bit sad. I think that CP and Gadv will rule not only in trip reports, but attendance numbers as well.

Actually I think GL is gonna be a sweet park once WWK gets finished. Phase 1 was awesome especially LL I can't wait to see what it will be like when it is finished.
