Every topic i read about and the replys, no one seems to talk about SFMW at all in the forums or any of the coasters there! I just wanted tot ake a moment and help coaster fans everywhere of what an awsome park this is! Of course, they are still building up to the big boys of SFMM and SGADv, but they have some awsome rides like Medusa (my fav), Roar (one of the best woodies I've been on) and V2! Y is this park so underrrated?

I just think that the SF bay area isn't that big a roller coaster area, and unless you live around there (which I do), the coaster count just doesn't impress vistors enough to make it a big deal. The reason there aren't that many people talking about it is because there aren't that many people that have been there.
I agree it is a nice park with good coasters, but it seems overpriced and it has a bad layout IMO.

Six Flags Marine World is an awesome theme park! I do think it's kinda underrated nowadays. I haven't seen anything on it yet on television except when they showed that "30 Roller Coasters in 24 Hours?" show at the Discovery Channel. They didn't even make a feature on Medusa! That's like one of, if not, the best floorless out there! VČ seems awesome! Wait, there's a lot of debate going on about VČ: is it 150 feet tall or 180 feet tall? I dunno and I don't care how tall it is, I just want the ride to be awesome when I go there. Well, even though I've already ridden Superman: Ultimate Escape, it's predecessor, I pretty much know what the ride's gonna be like. I still think Medusa rocks!

i think that people love it for what it has, medusa and roar, but when you compare that to the 7 or 8 great coasters at the most talked about paks it isnt much

If somebody from the east coast got to decide to go to SFMM or SFMW Everybody would chose SFMM!

Honan Beetch, there WAS a feature on Medusa but not on the copied version of it! TLC had a whole segment on Medusa at Great Adventure when it came out in 1999. The reason people aren't making a big deal about Marine World is because it only has two good coasters, one of which is a copy of an original.

I loved my visit a few weeks ago to SFMW. Friendly employees, a very good collection of coasters, the shows were wonderful.

Shoot, I've even got a big old trip report about it in the trip reports section, so I'll let that pass as my words on the park.

OH, and yeah, since I'm a mod I'm going to move this over to the park forum where it belongs.

Finally a topic about my home park. I love SFMW and I think it will start getting a lot of coasters soon after they purchase the fairgrounds. Hyper anybody?

Don't start the hyper issue...oh geez...anyway I guess MW is my home park even though I like PGA more. It is all right for a thrill park, just that it needs to grow more and we will see if it can.

I think SFMW is definitely underrated. It has one of the best floorless coasters ever. I thnk they should make a hyper over the water.

I think you just explained why.V2 is a clone lost all the hype when it opened and so is roar. I think they have a boomerang though which is awsome. So really SFMW's only good ride is Medusa.

I think that this park dosn't look too good, their only real good rides are Medusa, V2, and Roar, and the park doesn't really have much else then a Boomerang, SLC, and kiddie coaster.

it doesn't get recognition right now cause of the size of the park, but if they purchase the fair grounds which i am hopeing then mm will be less talked about and mw will be.

I was extremely lucky to be able to go to SFMW in June. I had to beg my parents (it was part of a vacation)! I was very surprised. I absolutely loved it there!!! Medusa is my favorite steel coaster, and I've only ridden it twice! I do think it is underrated though because I hear nothing about it. Also, Medusa doesn't seem to get in any credit!

Don't give up.

I live in South Florida and Visited SFMW last year.

It's a great park.

The reason why SFMW gets no attention is because most people on these boards are from the east coast.

If you've never been to San Francisco, then go, visit SFMW one day, PGA the next, then site see the city. Oh, and don't forget the drive out to Santa Cruz to ride the Giant Dipper, wow, that was an amazing ride.

If anything, I knock PGA for having short rides. I knock Medusa West for having no tunnels, but hey, I'm used to Kraken, so I want the theaming. Medusa East was first, so that one gets the attention, but Medusa West is great. That's my take on why Medusa West gets no attention, but it's Zero-G-Roll is right up there with Kraken.

There, happy, I said some nice things about your park.
