I'm not sure but I think they will eventually build up the former Dinosaur Beach pier as well as the other one they now own that is further north of Morey's Pier. Thats where any new coasters would probably go.

Actually, I really don't think theyre gonna get any major coaster installations (not counting any Wild Mouse's or Flitzers or Jet Stars, etc.). The convention center is taking up alot of construction time and money (dont have any $$ amounts to quote), so I don't think we're gonna see anythin for a couple years at the earliest (even though I hope we do! :) )

I live only bout an hour away from Wildwood,NJ where Morey's Pier is. I would really like to see a new coaster. And I agree with you Highlander they should replace Sea Serpent with Deja Vu escpicially after that accident.

Unless they can figure out some way to weave the coaster through an already crowded area, build it underwater, or put it on a new peir, I don't think so. Unless, of course, they make this coaster a kiddie coaster.

If they do (which I hope they do), I would want it to be great, but it probably wouldn't be. It would either be some kind of boomerang or a kiddie coaster.

| They did buy Dinosaur Beach/Hunt's Pier.
I have read about that on some other coaster site with an official new release from Moreys Pier's. I will try to locate it if I can. They are going to open the Gold Nugget Mine Ride once again. Thats a wonderful dark ride/coaster. I am sure that they'll be able to put a few coasters on that pier if they want. I know that they'll at least add one or two more. Morey's has been expanding their waterparks, and getting new flat rides, but I know what you mean about them need a new coaster. Maybe they will buy the Viper from SFOG and put it back at its original spot. :) Serious it would be nice to see another woody, and a good steel coaster. I agree with everyone about replacing the Sea Serpent with a Deja Vu. That would be cool. They replaced the train, so I think they'll be keeping that for the longest time. Thats the first boomerang I have ever ridden. For some reason it seems better than the others.

I live 8 miles from the Boardwalk in Wildwood. Of course Morey's would love to put a new coaster in - I don't have any access to information and I haven't heard anything, but if I had to guess I would say they'd like to build something hyper-ish. They don't have a lot of room, but there is always a way to squeeze something in, whether above, through, under, along the beach, wherever they can get an OK to build (think OFF the piers if you can, that expands things a bit). One thing that will NOT happen is attendance falling off if they don't build anything - people will come to Wildwood and ride the rides, new or old. And there are already two hi-profile coasters there with inversions, I think a non-looping giant coaster would round it out best (although my personal choice would be a great big B&M standup - very unlikely, I am sure). Where would they put it? I would guess Morey's Pier at the north end - Mariner's Landing is in the middle and will get foot traffic no matter what. The hi-thrill stuff is concentrated at Morey's in North Wildwood, they might want to keep it that way. Will they replace Sea Serpent with a Deja Vu? Doubtful, they don't need to, the Sea Serpent is still popular, in good shape, and we haven't seen a DV up and running yet anyway. Will Hunt's get rides? Doubtful - the plan was to renovate the pier into a " Boardwalk centerpiece" entertainment strip, which I think is a good idea - they have three piers with rides on them, and they can fit more on them if they want. All of Wildwood is about to undergo a major renewal off and on the Boardwalk, and Morey's has been pushing for it for a long time - the Hunt's redevelopment would be inportant to it succeeding. As for the Golden Nugget - it's still there. Again, I have no official word, but I have heard removal or di*******embly to move it to another park would be VERY difficult and expensive because the structure is reportedly full of asbestos. If they did spend the money to do an environmentally safe demolition, it could not be disposed in any NJ landfill, and they can't dump it in the ocean. Will they run it again? The pier's redevelopment is not to include any rides, although for now they've put in a Skyscraper, at least until the big renovation happens. But it wouldn't surprise me if the state required major mods - like locking lap bars, etc, etc - we can thank the rotten little summer urchins of Wildwood and their behavior problems for that. There are other options, though - Morey's people are creative, we'll see what they come up with.
