how gutted am I - Warner Bros in Madrid

I am so sad that Movie World is being built in Madrid. Why?? I hear you all cry...well it was originally supposed to be built in Uxbridge, in Middelsex West London where I live but the council turned down the planning permission. How amazing would it have been?? They found the land and everything and it was right next to the M40 motorway...

Gutted.

Youre gutted? there was going to be a theme park right next to my house practically, but it got cancelled. It wasnt that far from you either, maybe 20 mins drive. It would have been awesome! possibly it was a site considered for WBMW.It wont happen now,the land has been sold for other things.

it was a lot nearer to london than uxbridge,i wouldnt call that london.

I feel bad for you guys. That would have been awesome if the theme park was located right next to where you all live. You guy's would have been a few minutes away from 4 world class coasters: an Intamin woodie (Wild Wild West), a Vekoma super invertigo (Twister), a B&M floorless (Superman), and a B&M inverted (Batman). Oh well, at least the park is existing somewhere.

its so anoying they cancelled them both (the one next to my house AND the uxbrigde one),even uxbridge isnt far for me to go.Although you would probably find these "cancelled" plans werent really possible/viable anyway. not both would have been built, they were too close to each other......

Can anyone remember a tv show on ITV a few years back called Billion Dollar Funfairs ?
It was behind the scenes with universal, showed making of, T2, Twister, Jurrasic Park River, Islands of Adventure etc

towards the end of that show the Universal imagineers were asked what was the possibility of seeeing a movie based theme park in england

- > cut to - >

footage of the "Leevesdown Studios Site" in the UK which was an old RAF base [with runway :) ] / tv studios, and there were two ex-disney executives, who had "the master plan" and were starting to build the infastructure of the park.

WHAT HAPPENED TOO LEEVESDOWN STUDIOS SITE?

This is what im talking about-i live nearby.its right next to the m25 as well. Bascially, the plan was cancelled for unknown reasons, and most of the land was sold off for housing, and offices, which are long since finished. The studio kept what land they needed (not much),and the place contiues to operate as a studio (stars wars EP 1 + sleepy hollow were filmed there). Its not an raf base it WAS a civillian areodrome many, many years ago.
Cause the land is long since sold its not gonna happen now (:. The infrasturcture was a new(expensive) road but thats as far as it got and the new road was used for the houses.More money to make that way i guess.the runway still exists as far as i know (but isnt used) at least it did a few years ago.

Bloody british planing laws.

Seems these people are just ignorant to the huge tourism boost these parks would bring, didnt something similar happen with Euro Disney, which was originally to be built in England?

Levesden is in the middle of protected land, which means you can build factories and houses but not coasters.
