Six Flags Great Adventure

So i decided to go to sfga... my parents would never let me go there when i was younger because right before i was born my moms cousin died on the lightning loops there. So we get to the park early to get on the good coasters. After we pay we are brought into the parks main entrance with a crowd of people watching a show until the park actually opened. immediately i was a little ticked off because its 9:30 in the morning and i couldnt hear my sister talking to me because the speakers were so loud. So when the park opens everyone including myselfs hauls ass to kingda ka...which is closed until further notice...so my girlfriend is tired of walking so i put her on my back and run to medusa...which is closed until further notice...so once again i run to superman...which is closed until further notice...at this point im about to ask for a refund. finally we get on nitro which had no line at the time but still took nearly 20 minutes for us to get on? then we went on batman which is themed like a city type area but didnt know it was supose to smell like one too. after that we decided to go on the gret american scream machine and after waiting 15 minutes in line i saw kingda ka go up so i jump out of line with my girlfriend and we ran over to it...this was maybe 3-4 minutes after getting in line and the line was already a 2 hour wait which i was ok with lol. so after waiting in line and a breakdown right before we get on we finally get a ride after that we went to medusa which was about a 45 minute wait and then back to superman which was a little over 2 hours and that pretty much concluded our trip...pretty dissapointing the park was also just overall trashy and crowded for a weekday but i guess thats what you get putting a park between 2 major cities (philly and new york)

You didn't ride El Toro? Man, you should've. Also, it's odd to know you're related to the woman who fell out of Lightnin' Loops. That sucks.

^I kindof agree.

Oh believe me I'm not crying. I'm just crying over our country's education system. Particularly, school's english departments.

Shouldn't this be in the trip reports section of the boards? I realize that Phillycoaster is a new member but the appropriate forum for TR's is marked further down the page, for a minute there I thought this was one of the classic "general" threads posted in the spirit of the carowinds thread that takes up way too much coverage on the board.

yea im not sure, im use to going to places like cedar point, hershey, dorney etc. i wasnt really use to the enviornment. i found some of the people there to be quite ignorant, and others to be very polite in another words im gonna give the place a second chance and go back soon with my free pass lol

It really doesn't have anything to do with luck. It all comes down to what someone is used to/what they expect/their dislikes/likes etc.

If you are used to going to Cedar Fair, Busch, Disney, or Universal parks and come to expect good service, friendliness, cleanliness, and efficiency, you are very likely to hate or greatly dislike Six Flags.

If you are a regular to the Six Flags parks you may not have any problems with it, but for someone who only goes there on occasions, and usually goes to the "higher up" park chains, they will find many problems with it because there is such a huge difference in the way they are run.

Theres no BS to that story. That sounds like a normal day at Gadv. Both El Toro and Kingda Ka havent opened with the park in weeks and the management as a whole has sucked this year. They put two workers at the front of a ride thats closed to tell people its closed yet they cant open all the rides on time (or at all) because they are understaffed. Its ridiculous.

funny you mention that, thats exactly how it happened...i got right up to the cobra roll at medusa and there was an employee standing there, same with kingda ka, it took the excitement out of the trip at first

^As you see, the standard on this site is that we use Capitals - Shift and the letter you want to capitalize. The spelling is pretty good. : )

I'm going today and meeting with family. I actually have to go to work later at 3 so it'll be a short day. I've warned them to not turn left to ride the main rides at opening. On a weekday I can get a fair swing of the major coasters before Kingda Ka and El Toro. As sour as the delayed opening is, we can still be smart and just ride all the other kick ars coasters beforehand.

The Kingda Ka and El Toro delay could be much better handled if someone nicely suggested the other huge array of open rides on the PA, as long as they're not annoying.

I also believe they should announce the delayed opening of El Toro and Kindga Ka at the entrance to the park, that way the GP doesnt go running over there at opening all excited, only to be told they have to wait.
