| | | Six Flags Over Georgia.....now what? So, here we are. We have a well rounded collection of varieties of coasters, and we finally got the hyper we have always wanted.
So now what? I honestly can't imagine what they will do next. I don't think they will try to outdo Goliath for a long time.....so, which direction will they go? Flats? A midsized ride?
Discuss.....

| | | well the park is a bit lacking in flats. If they'd spend the money the park could use a few thrill rides. I think a few more family flats but the thrill ride side is really laking. |

| | | I think they will get some new flatsdo some park updates and then add another wooden coaster. One that has more of a twister layout. But i don't think it will be like next season or anything.

| | | It seems like all the parks need a flat upgrade...or just some in the first place. They all have the older style ones, and keep taking them out to add coasters. But yeah, with the new "plan" for the parks and no big coasters in the near future (which wouldn't expect really) probably mean a lot of family upgrades. More "funner" than thrilling rides.

| | | Huss is in financial trouble. They do make more thrill rides than family fun rides though.

| | | huss will be fine in the long run. While SFI is trying to build itself up as family parks. locals parks that already have the families and the rides to support them will start adding more thrill rides.
Not to mention Huss makes a few family rides that have been very popular at other SFI parks.
I like the idea of another wood coaster for SFOG. maybe they can make a loop around by Deja Vue to the Gotham area. |

| | | I think when parks see how successfull Maverick will be, they will start to build similar types of rides: small, but well themed, and interesting layout.

| | | I would like to see Vertical Velocity (V2) come to SFOG. I've ridden the one in SFGA and it was one of my favorite rides there! SFOG doesn't have a launch ride. And an impulse coaster would look great and attract a lot of people.
Maverick does look sweet!
A wooden coaster...? That would be cool as long as it is smooth! They should take down Georgia Cyclone, there are no lines, it hurts like crazy, and it never ends!
But after GOLIATH I don't expect much lately. Six Flags is almost "in the tubes," haha as you would say with their finances. So, I don't think anything "BIG" soon.
Vertical Velocity (V2) would be sweet, in my opinion! |

| | | No line for Cyclone, have you ever gone on a moderately busy day? The queue house is often full - probably due to location more than anything. What would be awesome, and cheaper than building an entirely new ride, is if Intamin would do the retracking for the Cyclone, and to bring in their trains. It could probably become the best ride in the world if it had that kind of smoothness coupled with the insane air it can already produce. However I don't have any realistic hopes for that.
I would like to see more flats in the park, themed to fit the area they were placed in, and most importantly, to have capacity in a park that can get very crowded.
I don't think we will ever see an Intamin Impulse coaster. |

| | | I would have said family rides, but it seems like you've got the larger kid ride department covered and the smaller kid ride department covered. I guess you guys could use some flat rides. Probably won't get anything for awhile. |

| | | I always thought a B&M Floorless is the one missing thing that would have complemented the park very well, along with an impulse or a launched coaster of some kind.
They have a modest collection of flats at best, but could add something like a Giant Frisbee type ride. The one thing I wish could have stayed at the park was their Great Gasp parachute drop tower, as I really like those kind of rides; surely they could have found another place to relocate it -- probably somewhere in the back with GASM and Superman - Ultimate Flight.

| | | I just went to SFOG and I don't see a coaster coming anytime soon seeing as they have the next best collection in the SF chain after SFMM and SFGA,but it was in need of flats. A floorless won't happen I don't think,as SF has stopped buying those it seems...
When I rode georgia cyclone, I thought it was amazing and didn't rough me up at all, of course I rode in the front everytime... and it has since moved itself into my top woodies category. So maybe I just caught it on a good day...or two good days...?
I see the freefall being removed for something as it kind've is in a deadend section and never has a real line, or at least when I went, despite it being a very very very two crowded days.

| | | ^If you thought Cyclone was good in the front, you need to ride car 6 row 1. It owns the front so hard.
If only they would buy new trains and get GCI or GG to retrack it (and they wouldn't use Intamin, since the manager hates Intamin supposedly-also, Intamin's non plug-n-play woodies suck horribly).
I know this has been said and shot down probably 100 times, but they could fit an Impluse into the area where free fall is. The actuall vertical spikes would have to be over Mindbender's queue/the train tracks and over the lake for the log flume runover (which would be sick to be 200 ft. up facing straight down above a pool of water-that's assuming they would get the non-twisty rear spike).
Other than that, I can see more and more family flats, maybe a path from Gotham to Lickskillet (if only GP were here-he'd shoot that down in an instant), and possibly another B&M (probably not diving or sitdown, so floorless).

| | I just really hope they would choose to do something to make Cyclone better and not tear it down (padded seats would be a nice start). Fortunately ridership is still there.
It's actually John Odum who doesn't want to go back to Intamin again.. and he's now the regional VP (got the promotion when Melinda came home) so the anti-Intamin sentiment may now preside over several parks. However, I am honestly suprised he hasn't been fired by the new guys.
It surely didn't help that an Intamin at the park is down for the year and, chances are, Intamin isn't doing s#%@ to help.
I have to wonder if we would get a Gerstlauer next.. I think its possible with the success that Pandemonium has had, plus they have really been selling those things a lot lately. A boblsed would be sweet or even a typical spinner. Of course I think its still several years away.
oh and of course I was talking pre-fab... let's see.. American Eagle or El Toro, hmmm
who am I kidding? I'd prefer a few years of flats over anything, Goliath will keep me content for a few years |

| | | Hey don't slam on American Eagle. That still has one of the best first drops in the back row, and it is pretty old. Plus being the tallest coaster on earth once isn't too shabby. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
