American Adventures may not open in 2008, May Not Open in 2008

Screamscape has heard another odd bit of Six Flags news for the Georgia area. Screamscape sources tell us that they believe there is a chance that Six Flags may opt to not open the American Adventures attraction next to the WhiteWater waterpark. A quick look at the park’s website will show you that unlke the rest of the Six Flags parks, American Adventures has not yet set their 2008 hours. There is a 2008 calendar up right now but every date is listed as TBD. A local source tell me that typically the attraction has opened in March, but right now not only are no hours listed but apparently they haven’t contacted any of their past employees about working in 2008 either.
Trying to dig a little deeper, I called hunting for information about trying to book a birthday party event at the attraction and when I finally got a live person on the phone I was told that the operational calendar had not yet been announced so they couldn’t book anything. I asked if they typically were open for April birthdays and was told that, “Normally we would be opening in March but… ummm …**pause**… we just really don’t know what’s going on yet.” I’ve got to admit things don’t look good.
In other news, Screamscape sources tell us that it’s pretty much a given right now that Six Flags will keep Skull Island, Splashwater Falls and Thunder River closed for the 2008 season. The park is committed to being a good community leader and will do whatever it can this season to save on water consumption.

Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom lives on for another year. Employees called back today.

It sounds like you're implying that this means the park is closing.
I'm not sure what American Adventures is, but if you can book it for a party, then it sounds like some kind of pavilion.
The other rides aren't opening this season because of the droughts in the area. All of them are water rides and water needs to be conserved for other, more important, things.

^American Adventures is a very small kiddie park next to WhiteWater. I think that if they close the park, Six Flags will expand WhiteWater.
In my opinion, AA is too small to fool with.

Last i checked there was room for expansion and a few really old slides that could be replaced at White water. AA is a small Local family park. Sounds more like it's operation might be in conjunction with the water park. I believe they use the same parking lot.

They might simply be shortening the schedule for summer only when they can make the most money.

Thanks for confirming that. I then go back to my statement that this may have more to do with White waters operation then anything else.

lol. I was once told that Intamin raft rides are actually quite expensive to operate in comparison to other rides. Look no further than that.
