| | | Amusement/Theme Park Passport About a week ago I stumbled across my "Passport to National Parks". The idea is that as you go to different National Parks across the US, you collect stamps that you put in the corresponding region. You also stamp it with a rubber stamp to put the date on which you visited it.
Then me and my dad came up with the idea of having the same thing, but for theme parks...Disneyland, Disney World, Six Flags, Cedar Point, the list could go on forever, but it could have stamps from all of them and tells you when you visited it.
So what do you guys think?
Have a Magical Day!

| | | That would just be something that collects dust in a corner of my room. Sure, it might be a cute idea for little kids, but that's really about it. Plus, you would have to get EVERY single park in the US to agree to it and to have the stamps. It just seems like something they wouldn't be interested in.
EPCOT already does something like this with their kidcot program. Kids go around the world showcase and get stamps from each pavilion.

| | | I could see Six Flags doing something like it.. Not every park in the US.. but a chain like SF or CF could try and pull it off.. The thing is most people arnt going around the US to ride coasters and such so people would only have one or two stamps...
When I was in highschool and kids talked about going to Six Flags it would aways just mean Great Adventure (for the most part kids kept calling SF New England by its old Riverside name) - I dont even think they knew there were more than 2 or 3 SF parks...

| | | Good idea maybe for enthusiast who visit tons of parks, but regular park guest would not want to participate in something like this for lack of amount of stamps. Plus I don't really see a place like Disney wanting to have there name associated with other theme park companies and a place like Disney would have to buy so many more stamps than anywhere else just because they have more guest but then if they didn't sell the most books to keep the stamps in then they would loose rather than gain, which is not something they like.

| | | The only people that would care about something like that are enthusiasts.
The GP would never buy something like that.

| | | I think alot of the GP would. I doubt it's just enthusiast that visit 10 parks a year.
If anyone did something like that i could see it being Disney and they would only do it fortheir 6 parks in Orlando. Cute idea for the kids.

| | | Outside of people visiting all the Disney parks, I've never heard anyone but an enthusiast say they visited 10 parks a year. People looked at me like I was crazy last June when I was going for 3.

| | | I think this would be something fun for kids but It would be hard to get parks to agree to it. besides most parks already have the penny stamp machines and sell large booklets to save them in. So I think they will stick with that since it makes then money.

| | | I collect those penny things AKA elongated coins, there are several penny communities online who go places just to get the pennies! I think they are nuts, they should enjoy the attraction that they are getting the penny from. Some of the booklets the parks sell are called penny passports, althought penny enthusiasts say to avoid them because the plastic will make the lifespan of the design shorter. The next time you see a taller young guy at a penny machine, ask if its me!

| | | I had a Six Flags booklet that held Penny Smashers when I was about 8 years old. It has the Six Flags logo and Bug Bunny, but I put all my smashed pennies inside from random parks and attractions. I lost it as time went on. I wonder where it is now.
The concept is somewhat similar, but I think if they marketed the idea well enough, it would be interesting. Maybe prizes if you visit a certain amount of parks, or something. Might not hit off so well though.

| | | It would be a great idea for a chain; they may be able to get slightly higher attendance at their more obscure parks due to people wanting more stamps. It would also be cheap advertising. Or maybe they could have like a "Virtual Passport" much like TN's ride count, but only for their parks, and not requiring joining a coaster enthusiast site. For example, guests could walk up to little computers in the parks, scan their "Passport" that they could have printed at home or whatever, select the rides that they went on that day, and then the park and rides will be automatically added to their "Passport". The parks could even have printers at the parks for guests to get their cards. It could be free, or it could not. Then guests could log on with the number of their card and view a graphic of their passport as it might look like if there were actual stamps. And if the parks REALLY wanted money they could offer to sell completed passports that could be customized. I'm sure there would be a lot of people who would buy into this, especially if the original card was free. Ah, the beauty of the digital age...

| | | For a chain or a small park if your used the passes to get into the rides say for everyone. you could also use it like a debit card so you could preload money onto it and buy food. also if it's being used for food and rides possibly even games it's a great way to conduct marketing research.
Another option would be Collectible coins. Clark's trading post in NH has a slot machine. put in a quarter and out comes a Clark's trading post collectable coin.
