The story is important and reading it was interesting but thanks for not posting like a regular member in threads and getting a feel for the place before you post a thread. Very Spammy like.

Using the micrometer approach seemed like an appropriate testing method. It was discussed among state departments like the one that tested elevators for efficiency. I would take that approach in logic for stretching analysis. Does a mechanic always follow word for word methods for different automobile issues? They probably develop their own approaches and views during their career in working with systems in conjunction to suggested intervals and protocol.

Notice they talked to another chain Cedar Fair in approaching the day to day conditions of the ride for the California edition for lubricating the ride. It's not by the book and necessarily do average Joe's like me need to raise hell? There's more seasoned vets with years of experience to weigh in on this and to decide whether to raise hell or soothe the situation.

It's also one genre of ride and a particular model so does it need to warrant such a vague thread title?

I thought I read that this SFKK guy ordered new cables. The SFGADV Skyway gets its cables replaced about every decade I read on another site. Is it necessarily mechanics speaking? No, mainly we fans.

My bad, I'm not a regular poster on forums and was just trying to spread the news and to also get some opinions if you'all ( expirienced enthusiast) thought this was wide spread or isolated.

I read some of the comments on that story. I wouldn't judge a different department of SFKK dependant on what the other portrays. If Landscaping is not up to snuff I don't think that could accurately speak upon Maintenance. The State of Kentucky has a better place to say something based on its past inspections and acredations than probably enthusiasts. The appearance of my mechanics shop is not going to say much about his experience, knowledge, reputation. The one I take for a certain measure I hear is pretty good but his shop is old and grungy. It's not so much in its hands.

I don't believe my trust in the mainly Euro based amusement development industry, multi state regulation, and park maintenance regardless of chain brand was quite tarnished at all. Shocked and touched by the accident - yes, but I still move on as a park goer.

Certainly, it seems though through all the coaster sites the general consensus is that SF for the most part is not a consistent chain. Have read alot of post and all seem to say they, for the most part are ****holes. Having only been to one and hear that Maintenance Dept is shawdy just thought I'd check around.

I wonder why it still hasn't been taken out yet when SFKK wanted it out by Feb. 1st.

The drop tower has been removed since the beginning of the year.

From comments in local newspaper SFKK wanted to take the ride down somewhere around Sept. but the family went to court and had the Judge stop them so the families lawyers could investgate the ride. I guess we see why now.
