Universal Studios and IOA -- Fast Pass system - how does it work?

If I purchase some of their Express Pass Plus deals what do I need to show at the rides to get down the line??

Do I get 1 ticket per attraction and just hand them a ticket?

Do they just scan the print out at each spot?

Do I need to show them ID with the printout ... if so any problems with the kids since they don't have ID??

Anyone have the scoop on this system?

LMK

Thanks

Greg

Universal uses what they call the "Express Pass" You have to purchase them and you get a card to use and that lets you bypass the lines on each attraction once per day. The price varies on the time of the year.

The slow season they run about $5. When it's busy they can run up to $50. You don't have to show an ID with the express pass.

With that you will wait no more than 15 min or less for each attraction.

You can also buy the express pass that lets you ride each attraction unlimited times but that will cost alot more.

Hope this helps.

Thanks I just wanted to be sure that I wouldn't have any issues with the wife or kids or what not in case I give them all my stuff to go ride coasters and then all of the sudden I needed my ID or something. I also didn't want any issues with the kids needing some sort of ID or something.

This is the pass I would prefer since I am the only coaster rider but the only way this pass is possible is by staying on site in one of Universal's hotels. I have not seen anywhere that you can simply pay more for this type of pass.

Thanks

Greg

Yeah. I forgot that you had to stay onsite to get unlimited.

Universal doesn't always scan your pass so you may be able to use it more than once per ride depending on your luck. Or you can still get multiple rides if you hit the popular rides in the morning without using the pass and then come back later and use Express.

Thats true. Or you will have some luck with team members like me who never crossed any attraction off or wrote on the fast pass.

We didn't have scanners at my work locations so i never bothered.

Thanks fellas. I am planning to do the hit the rides first thing and save the pass for later option. I think this will work.

Of course if they just scan the pass and don't pay attention to it at all (and no ID) then I should be able to ride the coasters on the passes from my wife and 2 kids who do not ride coasters at all. This would be great as it would give me 4 short wait rides on Hulk & Dueling Dragons which would suit me just fine. We would then have short waits for all the other rides together as a Family. This should also give us plenty of time to get a few of the shows as well.

Very true, I was able to hit Hulk about 4 or 5 times on New Years Eve when the line was close to two hours because they only bothered to scan me once.

If you go on a busy day, it is definitely worth it. It enables you to hit all the attractions you want to see at both parks in one day, which isn't possible on a busy day without one.
