Grayling, Michigan Amusement park

For those of you who are wonderiung what happened to the plans to build a new park in Grayling, MI.

It appears that the state of Michigan has effectivly told the company to "pit up or shut up". In a nutshell, the state wont bless the company's plans to go forward unless they can secure financing. Apparantly it a measure of good faith that it's not only feasible but the company has good intensons to actually complete the project.

I think that a small amusement park would do quite well in Grayling. it on the main highway here in Michigan and many people from the populus sotheren cities already vacation there. One more attraction only sweetend the deal for us.

I've always said that a new amusement park would do great in Michigan. As long as the owners are only looking to be driven by mainly locals, and not tourism, they'll do just fine. I mean, Michigan's basically a giant peninsula. There's very little tourism traffic that's just passing through, other than to get to Mackinac or Traverse City.

I think a new park with some mild thrill rides would be great here in southeast Michigan. The nearest major park is Cedar Point, 3 hours away, and I've heard from friends and family about how nice it would be if there was a similar park (obviously no where near up to the level of Cedar Point) in our area. If they could get a similar experience while only using 1/3 of the gas, why wouldn't they?

Southeast Michigan had an an amusement park only about 10-15 years ago, Boblo Island. I'm not certain what problems it had but it went belly up in the early 90s.
