Enthiusast Opinion Awards! Winners announced page 5!!

As the news story about the Golden Tickets got a lot of people ticked at how they were made and how they are the same year after year. I came up with some categories that are better for EVERYONE to vote on. Please post your opinions based on where you have been and what you have been on. I would love to see how it would pan out this way.

Mods, admins, if you think this is inappropriate, please lock it. But, I think it would be a better debate.

So, I was thinking. About those Golden Ticket awards and how really biased they are when it comes to BEST PARK…BEST RIDE…blah blah. So, I have decided to come up with categories that SHOULD be used in the GT’s. I will post my own opinions. Please feel free to share yours. Just copy and paste if you like. I will post mine later.

James, that's why I put in best looking park overall, instead of best landscaping. I thought it would bring out more parks.

Great answers so far, I will post mine in a bit, the baby is deciding to not have a good day. Nap time shouldn't be too far off.

Indeed. This would be pointless if it was just based off word-of-mouth and "looks" from photo/video.

^ That is precisely why I made these up. It is what you have experienced and have your opinion. Nothing is counted against your vote. Nothing can be biased.

After a few weeks, I will try to compile data and see if anything does win "best" amongst TN members.

What? You are notorious for doing this exact same thing.

It wasn't a personal attack though, I was just saying its not really a suprise that Carowinds's favorite park is Carowinds.

I can't really add much to this topic since I didn't really ride anything new to 2008 yet.

I didn't ride anything new for 2008. I wasn't able to. Just leave them blank and vote on the other stuff.

Is it also uncool to like any park that gets an annual attendance of over 1 million guests?

It's in his s/n and this is all based on your experiences/ situation for the year. If Dorneyman posted he probably would have said Dorney. Let's give Carowinds a break.

Favorite Amusement Park:
Knoebels - I really got to understand the park this year. I would have said SFGADV but they are lacking seriously in the flat department. I would have said Kings Island but if they still had 2007 names and Diamondback finally arrived.

Favorite Theme Park:
Universal Islands of Adventure - no doubt. Disney I feel is for more of the common people

Best Value Park:
Knoebels - You always end up with tickets that are always good for next time.

Favorite Water Park:
I don't go to waterparks really so I'm still stuck in the Dorney's Wildwater Kingdom vs. NJ's Hurricane Harbor debate.

Best New Steel Coaster of 2008:
Recycled Voodoo at Dorney Park. No thanks, Fahrenheit - too many issues. Capacity, train length.

Best New Wood Coaster of 2008: Ravine Flyer II no doubt. I love the ravine drop and the side to side twist after the bridge.

Best New Ride of 2008:
Flight at Martins Fantasy Island

Best Diversity of Food in a park:
I don't eat at parks.

Best selection of overall rides and attractions within a park: Kings Island

Favorite children’s area within a park: Kings Island

Favorite Park geared towards children: Sesame Place - Langhorne, PA.

Favorite Boardwalk/Seaside park: Astroland - Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York, New York.

Favorite Marine life park: SeaWorld San Antonio

Overall cleanliness throughout a park: Busch Gardens Europe

Overall friendliest throughout a park: Everland, South Korea

Best service: Six Flags Over Texas

Best looking park: (I mean overall appearance, not cleanliness) Dorney Park, Allentown, PA

Favorite Halloween event: Six Flags Fright Fest

Favorite Dark Ride: Spiderman

Favorite Walk Through Attraction: Dueling Dragons queue line

2 Superman Ride of Steel SFNE
3 Kumba
4 Eagle Fortress
