Haunted lazy river

Adventure Landing, a small FEC, is holding their annual Hall of Terror Haunted House here in Jax. This year they are adding a haunted river ride on their water parks lazy river. I just wanted to know if anyone has heard of this before. I know it’s probably too cold farther up north for this type of thing but it seems like a good idea.

I suggested that idea to Carowinds years ago but since our lazy river is so far back in the waterpark it could not be done without haveing the majority of the waterpark open but i love the idea.

Carowinds could do the same thing on our river rapids ride and with it winding through a heavly wooded area it would be amazing if done right.

Opryland used to convert their rapids ride into 'Quarantine' every year back when it was open, was really neat from what I hear...

The short Run Nightmare Island at SFNE used the River for the attraction. But it was empty.

I would Imagine they would use a boat for the attraction since you could better control the throughput.

That is a sweet idea. I wonder if they die the water red for blood?

I've known a few parks to drain thier rapids ride to make a walk through haunted attraction. I've never heard of one having live water.

I've also heard of draining the water but never with actual water.

^ Hank, CP has done this for a few years now, WereWolf canyon, but I thought that connecting the park to Soak city and using that area as a haunted area would be a good idea, this is space that wasted at this time of the year and would help with congestion in other areas...

^ I kinda thought they did it before. You know what could be cool is if they made Disaster Transport into a haunted ride - it would make it worth the wait AND they could leave it that way all year!

Well they turned "Werewolf Canyon" into "CornStalkers" this season, but anyhow, I think it would be awesome to have Soak City and Disaster Transport as haunted areas. Maybe even re-theme DT into a halloween type ride, with eerie sounds and the like. They close off part of DT's ques for the haunted house there, but I think with some creativity and moving that haunted house somewhere else, Cedar Point could have an awesome ride, that everyone could enjoy all year...and be in the mood for Halloween all season!

Great America used to Use Roaring Rapids for "Blood River" which had less water effects and the water was red. They Stopped it a few years ago, which I Don't know why.

^Sounds like a lot of fun. I wouldn't want to get wet during a Halloween event though. That probably is because I live in MIchigan and the weather here rarely s agreeagle with getting wet during October.
