While the park really wasnt that great of a place. My main concern is for the Ozark Wildcat. Its a great wood coaster, so I hope that they will not make it go a way. My guess is that any new developments at the park may contain the Wildcat. Sure would be a shame to loose it.

The OzCat will remain - they're not going to just throw it away. As of right now they're stating that none of the current attractions are leaving, but of course this is subject to change when they make their final decisions. I'm pretty positive that most of the lesser rides will be sold off, but OzCat, the ferris wheel, and a few of the other good rides will stay and be a part of the new development. It's too bad for the crazy Miller credit though... that was a truly unique ride.

I wouldn't mind if Dollywood got the coaster. A second woodie would be great in Timber Canyon. Wildcat rated number 20 in this years golden ticket awards. It deserves to have a home.

I have to agree SDC is more likely to get the coaster. that's if it moves. there was mention in the news report that they may open a rethemed park.

I hope and think that the Wildcat will stay where it is, I hope anyway. My guess would be that they will revamp the park and leave the wildcat where it is. From what I have read its not like Herschend is giving up on the property. I think they realized that property in its current state just doesnt work, but I felt that when I was there in 05. I need to send an email to some sources that I have at Dollywood and see if we can get an inside scoop as to the future of the park. Anyway hope nothing happens to the Wildcat, I really liked that ride and was tons of fun to ride.

I would prefer to see the property get re-themed. However at some point I beleive I read that a Herschend official made the comment that with recent research people are more interested than ever in animal attractions. Seeing as they have bought the Newport Aquarium, Adventure Aquarium and Wild Adventures and every park they own has had some type of animal show/attraction at it in the past two years I could easily see a new aquarium. The first full fledged "Herschend" built and operated one. Plus that is one attraction that Branson doesn't have and would have no competition with any other Branson Herschend proprieties such as a theme park would. ...just an opinion though.

I have heard rumors that the Herschends which to pursue an animal adventure 'park' second-gate experience at both their major properties (SDC and DW) in the near future... taking the Wild Adventures name. Pure speculation, but it seems they are moving in that direction. |

I suppose I agree. For some reason I was thinking SDC had a woodie, but upon looking on their website I see they don't. Every park needs a woodie. It would be a whole lot easier to move it to SDC than Dollywood. Hopefully, I can get to SDC next year. |

^People keep talking about them moving OzCat to SDC, but I don't think many realize just how the ride is shaped, not to mention the logicality of moving a wooden coaster. OzCat sits on a big piece of flat land - flat land isn't something SDC has much, if any, of. I don't even think they could fit it in at DW, though I don't know too much about the topography there. It doesn't matter though, because they're re-organizing the park, not demolishing it. OzCat will live on where it is, even if it's the only ride that stays. As for the rest of the park, what's taken out will be sold, with a couple of rides like Oribter ending up at WA. The park doesn't have much that would really be suitable for SDC or DW. |

I agree Supersteve. The Wildcat is not going anywhere, and I would figure that the park will get a new theme or a complete rebuild maybe even do something like they had down in Kemah. With lots of resterants and some attracktions, more like a night out kindo of thing rather then trying to be an amusment park.
