Lightbulb New Disneyland Resort Park

If you had the power to decide what Disneyland Resort's next park could be, what would you choose:

PIXAR Park- Themed to Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Monster's Inc., Finding Nemo, Cars, The Incredibles, Ratatoille (right spelling?), and Wall-E.

Waterpark- Themed to Mickey and Friends.

California's DisneySea- California's version of the amazing Tokyo Disneyland Park

Other- Have another idea, post it!

I Would vote for a water park. They have Bugs life and Cars already in DCA so it wouldn't be hard to add a few more Pixar attractions and have a pixar area within DCA.

Thing is a water park should be heavily themed. Something like the 2 in FL. I joked about a Beatles theme since the property is apparently Strawberry Fields. With 2 Amusement parks I think a water park woudl round off their park selection.

I agree. Disneyland would be better off with a Waterpark. Hopefully not a replica of the one's in florida. I would like to see a campletely new theme.

Definitely it should be a new theme. You want to create something you can't get some were else. I also know they have some hotels but they might want to look into building a campground as well.

Ironic you mention DisneySea, considering it was originally intended for California anyway...

They are already have Blizzard Beach in Florida, and I think there's a waterpark going in in CA?

I'd say go with a Pixar land/park. I love their movies, and frankly they are a cut above Disney animation anyway.

They only have one park. So if they are building a water park and finish it, I don't think there woudl be enough room left to build another park.

Since most of you think a waterpark, what should the waterpark's theme be? Should it be a Mickey & Friends theme as said in the original post, or something like Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach.

Also, Disney is limited on room, meaning they will only have enough room for a water or theme park.

And finally, although Disney already has many PIXAR rides, they could replace them with Disney themed rides. I think I'll start another post on what my plan would be for the Disney attractions, as it is a long list!

Don't forget the Disney Cruise Line expansion to the West Coast, which will round out DLR in the end, much like WDW is with their land/sea packages.

I would say a Typhoon or Blizzard type park. As for a theme It needs to be something new. Maybe a through back to Disney with a River Country (water whole) theme on a grand scale. They have that Beastly Kingdom idea that never made it into AK. Might make an interesting water park theme.

I think an Earthquake themed water park would fit nicely in the Disneyland resort.
It's something new and fits California.

Theme items could include broken water mains, busted hydrants, a lazy river through sewers and pipes, etc etc.

I honestly think a Pirates of the Caribbean theme would be amazing for a waterpark.

I do like the earthquake idea as well.

Interesting you say a Pirates themed area, as Hong Kong Disneyland has announced that as part of their expansion, they will be making an entire "land" just for Pirates. I had that idea last summer!

So if it were a Pirates of the Caribbean themed waterpark, what would be the main attraction. (Blizzard Beach has the 120 foot tall body slide and Typhoon Lagoon has the world's largest wave pool). Maybe a high-tech, Pirate themed, water coaster?

A water slide that goes underwater through The Flying Dutchman and surrounded by sharks.

That would be cool. What about a vortex that looks like the battle scene around the giant whirlpool in Pirates 3 complete with ships attached on the outside constantly firing "canons" (compressed mist).

I think the Pirates theme is a good idea to a point but a bit too similar to other water parks.

Well I would avoid anything with an island theme. Seems to be the go to theme for a water park.

I pointed out the local watering hole sort of a revision of Disney's Original water park River country.

A number of people seem eager to have a pixar park. Maybe combine the 2 wants. A radiator springs water spray ground. A giant Ain't hill with water slides off it. An Incredibles launch water slide. A pool area like the one in wall-e.

Maybe a kiddie pool Boo's Bayou. A Water Fun house Mike and Sullies laugh factory. For Monsters Inc.
